Default Question about waffles?

I am really confused. In the JC book, he says that you can have 2 Eggo Nutri Grain LF waffles w/ 1 tsp of peanut butter. He also says to add a glass of 1% milk, 3 pieces of lean turkey bacon, and a fruit. Well according to the calorie breakdown, the two waffles are about 140 cals and that is way over the 80 cals of carbs. He also states in the book that 1 lean slice of bacon equals 1 protein. You are allowed to have 3,but with this breakfast meal that he suggests to eat, it has too much protein. I am counting 5 proteins: peanut butter, 3 slices of bacon, and the glass of milk. I am very confused and I could just be missing something, but it doesn't make sense. Please explain.

50 calories for veggie/fruit
45 calories for fat
225 calories for protein
80 calories for carbs

I don't think it's as important to count the proteins, carbs, etc. as it is to count the calories.

You are EXACTLY on your 400 calorie goal for the meal. That's probably why he has all the food he does for that meal.

Meals are supposed to be around 400 calories each and then your snack calories are based on your weight.

Hope that helps!

I know Melissa and when I was a member of his site, I asked the administration about that and never could get any sense out of them about it.

I think that is what I am going to do. I would absolutely drive myself nuts if I had to do the breakdown for every meal. I will watch my fats and make sure I am eating whole carbs. Thanks !

Ok when it comes to the bacon, the 3 slices is equivalient to 1 protein. That I do know! Its all about servings sizes too!

In the book where he lists all the proteins, he states that 1 slice of lean bacon is 1 protein. Does "turkey" bacon make a difference? I think I just need to quit analyzing this and just make sure that I am eating healthy and at 400 cals a meal.

Melissa - it IS important to be sure you are eating enough protein. This diet is all about metabolism and protein vs. carbs is definitely going to affect that...

Turkey bacon has fewer calories than regular bacon - less fat and more protein. You will definitely be able to eat more Turkey Bacon than regular bacon. Why not go with two slices = one protein?
