What do you do when you are sick?

  • Okay - this afternoon I was supposed to eat at 1:00pm but I swear to you I could not even stand up. Every now and then I have terrible pain and nausea with my period - and today is one of those days. I STILL do not feel like eating but rather than see my blood sugar plummet - I ate a cheese stick - I am all trhown off now... what do I do? Have a snack at 4:00? Skip the snack? Wait for dinner?

  • Just do the best you can today Daisy, eat what you can 3 hours after you ate the cheese stick, don't skip any meals. Yes you may not feel like eating a full meal that is fine, atleast eat some protein of some sort to keep that metabolism going. Just do the best you can the rest of the day and then tomorrow start a new fresh day.
  • My heart goes out to you! I have horrible periods, too. Would a low sodium soup help? I can usually eat a cup of minestrone. The 100-calorie Oreo snack packs are good for choclate cravings, too. As incentive to help avoid (or at least limit) the choco snacks, my symptoms were still around but had significantly less impact after I hit my goal weight

  • When I get sick, I eat/drink whatever I feel like. Usually, it's something like ginger ale and/or rice pudding.

  • I did okay. Things eased up by suppertime so I ate a normal supper - possibly a smidge more carbs than I should have had - but I am not worried about it. I was hungry before bed though - I had tea and went to bed. I didn't want to eat at 10PM - I can't sleep worth a darn when I do that.

    My periods have been like this my whole life regardless of weight - losing weight has no impact on my symptoms - sometimes I have a day like that 0 I slept A LOT yesterday... I fell asleep in my papasan chair from like 3-6pm then I got up and made dinner and hung out a bit - got ds in bed and fell back asleep from 9-11 - then went to bed, LOL... It really drains me.

    Today, however - I feel great! SO - we are back on track. Thanks guys!
