Default Ok what's the deal?

During my brief leave of absence (LOL!) from here I would get several IM"s a day saying how much yall missed me and to come back etc...........so I come back and now it seems I am the only one starting new posts and keeping posts going......................where is everyone? Its gets boring when one person starts all the threads and chit chats with herself. Do I have like bad breath or something?!?! Where did everyone go?

Come out Come out where ever you are!!

Laurie - I'm still here, just not getting to post as much when I am at home. My DH and son are constantly on the computer now that we are no longer a dial-up family I have been a couch potato for the past two days because of chemo effect, but today I am feeling much better. So much better, that I got up and ate breakfast without weighing in first. I think this is the first Sunday I forgot to weigh in. So, I will do it tomorrow and post my weight - if I can remember that is!! The last two days I have been watching the cooking channel on TV. I have been learning lots and can't wait to start using some of the ideas - like marinating seafood (TUna) and putting them on skewers and grill them quickly and then stir fry fresh veggies - like Bok Choy (which I never knew what to do with before). I feel empowered!!

Hope everyone is well and starts posting soon!!

I am still here. I think weekends it is harder to post for a lot of people -- at least it is for me. But, I am here!!

Laurie, I'm going to go out on a limb here and risk offending you. It's not my intention, but this is how I see it.

While it is evident that you DO start most of the posts, and you DO post often, I don't think you are the ONLY one. I've started a few since I've been here, and so have others.

It is easy to forget that some of the posters/lurkers here have limited online time, so they are not able to post at length or start new discussions. In my situation, I am online from work, but can only post here and there because...well...I have work to do. Since I do not have internet access at home, the only time I would be able to post on the weekend would be from the local library or maybe from a friend's house. I know that if I had more online time I would start more discussions. As it is now, I am only able to add short responses to threads and keep my journal.

Please don't misunderstand--I truly appreciate your dedication to this online group, and I know the others do also. Please keep in mind that some of us are not able to participate as fully as we want to right now.

I hope I haven't offended you. If I have, you may ask me to leave the group.

Just some food for thought,
Jeanette

Jeanette you haven't offended me. Most of the reason I posted this anyways was stuff from before you and some of the others new ones joined. The way the group was before, we went from having TONS of new posts a day to having barely a handful and then when I took some time off from the site, I would get several IM"s a day from folks wanting to get the forum moving like it *use to be* and now I have come back and those same folks have left again, so I was wondering whats going on. You would have no clue really what it was like before so by no means are you offending me in anyway.

One thing I have found with online communities--they evolve and change just like the people on it. Some people stay for as long as it fulfills their needs, and some stay longer to help others on the journey.

Don't look back at the way it "used to be"--let's see how great we can make it now. I'm willing to help as much as I can.

I know how you feel Lauri - and if I may make one suggestion - I notice that a great number of ppl do have the little red Y attached to their name - just like myself. I have tried to add a couple of those names to my own list, and they successfully "joined my list". I have tried to engage in conversation several times, but it appears to be "slow cooking" - and often names will show up with a tagline to it, indicating that the person is either busy or doing other things, and do not wish to be disturbed. That of course has to be respected, and so even on Yahoo, communications can be sluggish.
I have set up a group "3fc" on my list, so it is easy to see who happens to be online from here - I love to communicate..... and if I am busy with something else, you would not see me as being online at all. PLEASE - call me in for a chat if you can see me and are free yourself! Love to chat with you.............
I also respect the fact that some ladies do not have easy access or time and for those, emails or messages here is a blessing. I do check here as well - love to hear from peoples

MaGreta - I love our YIM chats. Even if I have to work at the same time. You are a sweetheart and glad I have had the chance to get to know you.
