Default Update on us.................

YES, break out the lady with a whip on me but I am coming crawling back!

Some what of an update on us is well Keilyn had an allergic reaction with
penicillian (i think I may have told you about that), then she had an allergic reaction to some play makeup she got into at a birthday party (UGH!) then Steven started football practice which was taking up about 5 nights a week for us, then school started, Steven hurt his foot awhile back and then we got it all better, then low and behold this girl caught Steven's eye and I think he is *in love* now, now the interesting part about this girl is she lives up the street from us and she is taking up all his time so I am having to REALLY keep my eyes open with this situation, Keilyn is REALLY having some terrible 3 tantrums and they are just getting unreal, then on Labor Day Steven was outside playing football with some neighborhood kids, some big kid stomped on Steven's foot, now Steven has 2 broken toes and is in a removable walking cast. I am having to fight with him on keeping it on. He is on the middle school football team and even though he can't play for 2 weeks, he still has to attend every practice and every game which isn't much fun. Since meeting this girl, Steven has found or thinks he has found a social life and it is so hard for me being a single parent trying to manage a 3 year old and a 13 year old. Then on Thursday of this past week, I got a call from STeven's spanish teacher saying he was acting like the class clown in class and then I did something I warned him last year I would do if he didnt' cut this crap out, I got in my car and went up to his school and I shadowed him for the remainder of the day and went to class with him!!! YEP! Sure did, talk about embarrassing, but hey if I have to embarass him to make him act the way he should then that is what I will do!

An inbetween all that I signed Keilyn up for preschool (MWF) and it was suppose to start on Friday, but I chickened out about sending her so I gave my spot up to someone else, now I am REALLY regretting it! I think I am just having a hard time letting go, but I know she needs to go. But thankfully a friend of mine, thinks her son's preschool has 1 opening for the 3 year old class so I maybe able to get her in there. We will see.

Also, I am thinking about getting a job, a part time job. Some place that I could just work a few mornings a week. Lots of retail places are hiring around here since all the college kids went back to school so I may do that, especially if I get Keilyn into preschool.

So..........................now *BREATH LAURIE BREATH****

I have really started feeling yucky again and I knows its all because I have lost my way with the JC plan but I am finding my way back and will start tomorrow with a good old fashing WI and will be back OP!!!!

OK so thats whats up with us, between the allergic reactions and the broken toes, we are all still alive!!

Wow, Laurie. That is some busy life you are leading! And we all thought once summer is over and Sept. was here that our routines would come back. Sept. is proving even harder! Let's hope things calm down for you and everyone else. Good for you for shadowing Stephen in school. You are a great parent. Too many parents don't discipline their kids. I think you should get a job on TV with Nanny 911!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Laurie...that is a neat idea to shadow your son...how did he react? What happened when you guys got home? Did it do the trick?

It has got to be rough for a single parent. I know I have a husband that isn't around much. He runs his own auto repair garage...and right now there isn't a mechanic so he is doing it all...we are lucky if he comes home by 8pm but at least I can have the kids call him.

I hope the foot heal quickly for your sake. And when you daughter goes to pre school it will be a big help for both of you. Hang in there!!! Soon you will be able to get right back on the JC horse and keep ridin'!!!

Take care,
Vicki

Wow Laurie - I liked the idea of shadowing him. Let us know how it goes and if it worked. I hope things slow down for us all.

I now work 6am - 1130 am and then work at the fitness club 430-830 every day and it is 30 min drive. Yep - sooo tires all the time.

Yesterdat I was up for a total of 22 hours straight- Dylan got sick - ugh!

OMG Laurie - I threatened my son with the same thing last year if he didn't get his act together. I will share your story with him and let him know that just because he is in high school doesn't mean I won't come to school and follow him around to make sure he gets to where he needs to be on time and with the right materials and hand in his homework - might as well, he did it. And as for Keily and the terrible 3's - Elizabeth's worst year was her third year. She was horrible - I couldn't take her anywhere without a scene. It gets better though - however, when they are pre-teen like Liz is right now, let's just say I know why some parents leave their kids. There is that temptation on days to just walk out and let kids see what is like without dear old mom for a while. BTW - glad you're back.

My DH is around, unfortunately we don't discipline the same and that can be a major battle. He wants my support 100% no matter what he says or does. However, if I feel strongly about something he doesn't support me. So, I have a very hard time supporting him on the things that I feel are ridiculous - too long of a story. But that is a battle in itself.

Dani, congratulations on your new job - hope you are having some fun!! I hope Dylan feels better soon. That is so tough when you can't get the rest you need - take some time for you!!
