Good Morning Everyone,

Looks like a beautiful day here in the northeast. I have a former colleague coming to visit so I can help with a program evaluation I started before Donald had his seizures & I retired. I feel guilty about not finishing it but it has been one thing I just can't get myself to do. You know, it's one of those things that keeps getting moved to the bottom of the "to do" list.

I began my new online course yesterday. At this point, I'm whipping them into shape - Laurie, where's that whip? They seem like a nice group of folks. 9 students - 1 in Korea & 1 in Germany. The other 7 in the US.

Yesterday we went to a new stroke support group. Just the facilitator & 1 other stroke survivor. Facilitator did little to nothing. The other stroke survivor had her stroke 11 years ago & is stuck on whether or not to sue the doctor who gave her the wrong medicine. The facilitator gave her no advice, resources, or support. We won't be going back to that group.

Donald and I have begun a search for the church we want to join. Last Sunday, we went to the Episcopal church. (We both liked it a lot.) This Sunday, we are going to the Methodist church. The following Sunday, to the Quaker meeting hall. There are 9 churches in our town, so we have a lot to choose from.

Not doing very well with my challenge, so far, 1 point. This evening, our aid and Donald and I are going to Country Buffet - Donald's choice - bad carb heaven. I will try to stick to meat, salad, veggies, and jello for dessert.

Hope we all have a good day,

Lynn

Hey ladies...well had a pretty good day yesterday...got in 50 min of cardio which I am proud of. Got on scale this morning for a peak and it was the same...BUT my clothes are starting to fit a bit different..hopefully my body will start cooperating soon and let go of the lbs. I meet with trainer today to work on my legs..probably won't be able to walk tomorrow...oh well...it is good for me.

Lynn-Sorry your support group didn't turn out yesterday. Good luck on finding a church! We are methodist and have just found one we really like here. It makes a world of difference in my life going every Sunday!!

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Cool

Sorry also Lynn that the group didn't work out....keep looking.

Well, I am up 1 lb. today since dinner out last night!! But I only ate half of my dinner (it was a fixed menu) all my veggies, no roll or dessert....so it has to be SALT don't you think.

I didn't do any exercise but will double up today and drink tons of water. Yikes I still have two dinner parties this week-end and one will have birthday cake!!!

Seems to be cooling off a bit in the evenings here so I may start walking my dog at night this week to get back to walking, he is a Doberman so we walk fast!!

Lynn, sorry the support group didn't turn out to be very good. Hang in there. I hope you find a church you like - that is so important. My church family is so special to me!!

I finally started walking again last night. DH took Halle (she is in my picture) and I was the pooper scooper!!! So I walked two miles - yea!! I am trying to get back to drinking all my water - not doing so hot! Meals are a lot better now that i am cooking again. Weight is staying the same.

Today is doing good. I worked in the am and again 1-1:30 - go figure. then Im off to do errends, go to the mall and brisk walk it for at least 20 min. I am going to try and go every week one a week. It gets the baby out in and we are in ac.

Lynn take your time on finding a church. DH and I have finally settled into a church for good. We have really investigated a lot of them and actually took lessons outside to find out which one was true and which one we felt most comfortable in. took 3 years! GL!

Halle - you are such a cute puppy!
Bye for now.

Hi everyone,

I took a peak and I am down about 1/2 pound. I had missed about 2 days of excercise but yesterday I did stairmaster for 1/2 hour and I did my 8mm.

Dani,

I am following in my daughter's footsteps. When she was around 20, she began investigating religions. She settled on Judaism. Her reasoning was that it was the only ethical religion - no promise of heaven for doing the right thing - just, do the right thing because it is the right thing.

Funny - about 5 years after that, we found out that my mother was born Jewish. When she was 8, her mother died & she was then put into an Episcopal orphanage and was raised as Episcopal. I was brought up Catholic (my father was Irish & my mother converted before they married). My husband had always belonged to Baptist churches. Right now, we are looking for different things in a church. In my adult years, my relationship with God has not involved any kind of church. I am looking for a church that is not offensive to my social/political views and that is active in the area of social and community service. Donald is looking for a religious community to become part of. I'll let you know how our search progresses.

Actually, I think we could both be happy with the Episcopal church that we attended on Sunday. So, at this point, we have at least one church on which we both agree.
