Default The REAL Thursday ~ August 4

Good Morning.

It's almost 9 am and not one has posted yet! Is everyone sleeping in? Well, I don't blame you. I'm up early as I've still have lots to do to get ready for vacation tomorrow.

I had a bad night last night. When I took out my contacts last night my left eye starting to burn and tear terribly and was extremely light sensitve. By 2am I still couldn't sleep as it hurt so bad - even with my eye closed! Couldn't see anything in it. Also at 2 am I had a migraine so I went down stairs to take some medicine and my eye was still throbbing and tearing badly. I then went up to my daughter's bed (she's away at camp) so I wouldn't bother DH. I finally feel asleep and woke up at 7:15 am and the eye pain was gone and so was the tearing and light senstivity. So I guess I did have something in my eye that just worked it's way out finally. So now I'm wondering how am I ever going to function and get everything I need to get done today with less than 4 hours of sleep. I know I'll need to crash this afternoon. I have a few errands to do, bathe and groom the dog, finish packing - ok I'm not going to stress. My objective is to stay OP. I did well yesterday except the timing was off a bit. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning and post on my weight tracker and that will be my weight for this past week and this coming Sunday since I won't have access to a scale or a computer. It would be so great if I could stay OP for my vacation and actually come home and have lost weight! Just got in from 60 minute walk. I won't have time to walk tomorrow morning as we are leaving at 8 am. So I probably won't get my walk in again until Sunday morning at the beach. I'm sure we'll walk the boardwalk Sat. night - with all those foods to tempt me (funnel cake, soft serve ice cream, carmel popcorn, fudge, salt water taffys - oh my - I will not indulge, I will not indulge!!!!).

Well, I will miss you all. I'll check in quickly tomorrow morning, but then I'm out of commission for the 8 days. See you all on Sunday, August 14!

Thumbs up

Wow, that is frightening when the eye is involved....you need a little nap this afternoon. Glad you are fine.

OH MY, FUNNEL CAKES..... I sooo love those, good thing I'm not going with you..I would be in big trouble

Have a wonderful vacation, do the best you can but most importantly have a good time.

I finally worked a few hrs. yesterday and it really felt good to get out and be independent again. So I am going to try my treadmill again today as dh said he fixed it....got to get my body moving to lose weight, I know that now.

Have a good one everyone....Phyllis

Good Thursday everyone..I have been so crazy busy..no time to post,, I have been checking email and reading a few posts tho, just not alot going on round here...sorry to hear you had such a rough time last night, Karen...good thing your eye is better..that would NOT be fun to deal with on a vacation!! Where are you going?? Wish I was coming with..and as far as the foods..enjoy just a bite of all that you like and count it in as your calorie total..or just do a little extra swimming/walking to burn it off!! Enjoy your time off with your family and we will see you back here when you return!!
We are still haying...supposed to rain today, so they may get a short break from the heat..Im planning a little get away with my sister and niece this weekend to Precious Moments Chapel in Joplin, MO.. been there before and looking forward to showing it to my sis and niece. Other than that, just getting ready for school here. Hope you all have a great rest of your week!

Becky:

Just checking in to read a few post and saw yours. We are going to Ocean City, NJ. What is the precious moments chapel? I used to collect Precious Moments figurines - anything to do with that? Enjoy your weekend. Hope it rains so you all get a break from haying!!!

Ok, just bathed the dog - onward ho for more packing!

I'm not having a very good day. It is my birthday, and I feel so old! I see wrinkles at my eyes today, for the first time! We "celebrated" yesterday, so it is sort of anticlimactic. I know I shouldn't feel that way, as an ADULT, but I'm sad. No party, no cake, not even any presents. My parents are hanging on to mine until we visit next week. DH is getting me the Gilmore Girls season 2 dvd set, but we couldn't find it in the stores, so I don't actually HAVE it. My own grandma even didn't send me a card, and she ALWAYS does!! And DH is leaving tonight for three days, so I will be all alone...

Okay, I'll quit whining now. I hope you are all having a good day!!!

Jessica:

I so relate to what you are saying. For my birthday in 2004, my own parents forgot and my close friends whom we always celebrate a birthday lunch for each of us forgot too! My immediate family remember (DH and 2 DD's) but everyone else forgot. I felt sad too. Even though we are adults and it shouldn't matter, it does!

Happy Birthday to you!

Jessica, It doesn't matter that we are adults its just nice to be remembered on our birthdya no matter how old we get. I remember feeling sad like you one year when both my sisters forgot to send me anything and my own boys last year nover even sent me a card, they finally called but it still made me sad so you are not alone. hugs, Wendy
