Upward and onward!!!

  • Hello..my name is Gemmie and Im fat! And new to the 3fatchicks. I just had a big birthday and decided Im sick of being heavy. People are so surprized (for those I have told) that I weigh alot more than I look.

A close friend of mine (past bf in fact) told me, "At our age, we really need to take care of ourselves. And I know you can do it"! Sooooo here I am!

Im not sure how much I weigh but last time I was weighed it was *gasp~sick feeling* 264 lbs. OMG that is sick to me. Just totally sick.

Im not sure what diet plan Im going to do but I need to do something. Decided to try 3fatchicks as a helping hand and communicate with other people struggling with their weight as well.

So here we go...My name is Gemmie and IM FAT!

Thank you thank you. Im not sure what fitday is? And with my friend being a male..his advice is good but might not be soo good for a woman. He just told me to give up *gasp* cheese and milk!!! HAHAHA surely you jest. He drinks soy milk..which tastes well gross to put it mild.

I will check out fitday. thanks gemmie
  • I eat soy cheese and use fat free soy milk. I don't drink it! I put a little on cereal and it's nice mixed in the blender with frozen fruit ... almost like ice cream.
I don't eat much dairy. It make my innards upset I eat very well and take calcium.
  • Hi Gemmie! I am new here too and wanted to say hi
  • You must first decide on a WOE ( way of eating) = eating plan... do you plan on doing atkins, weight watchers, south beach...or??
Get the book. Read it. Read it again... and then post on the forum... I have asked zillions of questions and they are almost always answered here... VERY VERY nice people here so.... best of luck!
  • Welcome to the forum. I am a cheese addict that has had a difficult time without it. There is some fat free, low cal cheese slices on the market but they aren't the real thing and to me, are not worth eating. There is also some reduced fat cheeses that do taste good, however, they are not reduced enough for me. I just had to face it, I can't have cheese anymore. If you find an alternative, please let me know.

Good luck to you. We are here if you need us.
