Hello everyone! I'm new here and will need lots of help staying on track. I lost my daughter a little over two years ago and I've been gaining a lot of weight ever since. I've always had a weight problem but since losing my baby it's gotten completely out of control. I am definately ready to get rid of this excess weight. I'm looking forward to my journey ahead. It's going to feel so good to be able to do the things I used to do. I'm not on a particular program right now, just trying to eat better and exercise a lot more. It seems to be working but I'm open to all ideas. Please let me know what's worked best for you all.
Hi,
First I'd like to say that I'm very sorry for your loss. I know it does not compare, but I lost a very dear friend about 15 months ago. Since then, I too, have gained about 50 pounds. I can relate to how you feel. I just started yet ANOTHER program this morning. At this point, staying at my current weight is not an option. I have a huge box of small clothes that I need to get into. I rarely go out, and I'm embarassed of my appearance most of the time.
I wish you the best on your weight loss goal.
Mattie
Thank you Mattie. I know exactly what you mean about having a box of smaller clothes that you can no longer fit into. I have 3 large sacks of clothes in my basement because I've outgrown them. I used to care about what I looked like, but then I just let everything go. But we can both get back on track. You need to do something special just for you to make you feel better about yourself. I actually went out this past week and had 11 inches of my hair cut off. I got tired of the same thing everyday and decided to change the hair first. You would not believe how much better it's made feel about myself!
WOW, 11 inches?? That's a lot of hair! I'm so glad it made you feel better. I'll have to think of something new for me.... Oh yeah, I forgot, I just got a Great Dane puppy about 2 weeks ago. I love him sooooo much. But it's funny, I thought I could use the opportunity to walk him outside, but he's so spoiled, he hates going outside. I literaly have to carry him so he can go to the bathroom... *sigh*
I mentioned before that I started the Fat Smasher diet today. Well, I have to say that I feel wonderful. I know it has only been one day (not even), but I don't remember feeling this optimistic about a diet for quite some time now.
Well, I think it would be a wonderful idea if we could keep supporting each other in our goal.
Talk to you soon!!
So sorry about the loss of your daughter. You've come to a great site for support with weight loss, exercise and so much more. You can do it!
Wishing You All The Best
Denise
Oh my gosh, a new puppy? I absolutely love animals! Maybe your puppy will get more energy as he gets older. Even if he doesn't, here's another way to look at things.
I'm sure you want him to be healthy so he needs his walks which you're in charge of, so even if you have to drag him along you'll do it because you want what is best for him. In the end you'll both be benefiting from the exercise.
I have a cat that has been my constant companion for the last year and a half. Whenever I need to talk I can just sit down with her and not have to worry about what her reply will be because it's always the same, unconditional love. I have to say that pets are very therapeutic.
Fat Smashers? What is that, I'd love more info.
Have a FANTASTIC day! =)
Denise,
Thanks so much for your supportive note. I'm looking forward to getting to know all kinds of new people and staying on top of my weightloss goal for once!
Fat Smashers is a program drafted by Dr. Ian Smith. I find it easy, balanced, and effective. It has been great so far. It has only been three days, but I really like it so far....
