intro
i've been on this journey for 3 1/2 years. after a lifetime struggle with my weight, i decided that wls was my only option. unfortunately, my insurance wouldn't cover it, so i decided to try atkins while saving money to self pay. well, atkins worked for me and i lost about 80 lbs in the first year (down from 310 to 230). the second year i managed to lose another 45 by trying to eat a healthy balanced diet and exercising like a fiend. and then work got crazy and i lost my focus and over the last year and a half, i've gained back almost 40 of those buggers and now i'm determined to get them off for good!
i'm really struggling with staying focused and it's unbelievably frustrating! so i'm back to looking for support anywhere i can find it. i tried weight watchers about a year ago, and when i stick with the plan, i do great with my loss, so that's what i'm doing again (though not paying for meetings... that money and then some is going to pay for a personal trainer at the gym!).
other things about me... i'll be 39 years old next month and live in seattle with my fiance (getting married in the spring), dog and cat. i'm 5' 4.5" and as of this morning was at 222.8 lbs. my long term goal is 160 and my short term goal is to get back to one-derland for good!!
