Red face PCOS, insulin resistance, WW- new girl needs a buddy

My name is megan and I am 19 years old. After a diagnosis of Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and Insulin Resistance (and taking NONE of my medications) I find myself 136 lbs overweight. How disgusting. And to think, I'm a nurse

I moved out of state to go to college and therefore never see my family. My boyfriend is an obnoxious jerk and makes my life **** a lot of the time. Because of my current situation I have plenty of depression issues to deal with. But I really feel in my heart that the first step is to start taking care of my body. At this rate I will have diabetes by age 25. I want to be beautiful again, and I want to FEEL well. I am constantly fatigued and miserable. I have absolutely no motivation in life, and it's time for things to change.

I am beginning Weight Watchers for the second time. My first try with WW was successful, but I just got lazy and quit. I have considered joining this blogging community for a while now, and I've decided that today is the day.

I would love to have a diet buddy here on the forums. All my real-life friends are either thin already or are completely not ready to give up their junk food.

It would be an added bonus if I could find someone with PCOS and/or insulin resistance like me.

Be my buddy anyone?

girl, you have GOT to get yourself right. it already sounds like you know what you need, and this is definitely the first step in the right direction. There is a special PCOS group in the Dieting with Obstacles section. check it out.

wow i have a lot of the same issues. i have pcos and i don't know what my insulin was like because it scared me so bad that i made that INSANE mistake where you get so freaked out that you decide to just ignore the problem. now i live in germany and don't really have the means for getting to a doctor to get on the right medication. but ive gotten wise finally and even though i cant get birth control/metformin right now im being really careful with what i eat and my body has really been responding to it! i used to be so tired but since ive taken off about 15 or so pounds im already starting to feel so much better! my period is even getting on track!

i know exactly what you mean about the real life friends thing. either my friends are thin or they are totally delusional about their weight/eating problems. anyway id love to be diet buddies! diabetes is too horrible of an option and i dont want to see anyone go down that road so im here to support you!

Hey guys - We have a great "PCOS/Insulin Resistance" forum to discuss this very topic and find others in the same situation...it's in the "Dieting with Obstacles" forum.

As someone who has PCOS and who has fought (and beaten!) over 125 pounds, This is absolutely possible. You might need more support, or to tweak your methods, but it can be done!

Can't wait to get to know you better...keep posting!
