I'm not much for but kicking butt, but I will help support/motivate you if you want. Good luck with the gym! I want to join Curves but I am still debating if I can find the time.

Default Hi there!

Congrats on losing the 4 pounds! I'm new, too--haven't even posted my intro yet, but I'd be very happy to help support you on your mission to better health.

I'm 43 and currently a size 16 working towards at least a size 12. I figure I need to lose about 60 to 70 pounds (historically, it takes 20 pounds for me to drop a size.)

I hope you made it to your first day at the gym--that's the best first step. I've been going to the gym for the past 16 months, but I've only maintained because I still eat too much--I just love food!
I'm trying to focus on moderation!

Hi Tina, and welcome! Glad you are here!

I tend to think no one else can be our motivation for us -- it has to be a decision we make and stick to it -- but I'd love to be a part of your encouragement and support team here in the forum. We do have a nice kickbutt icon though for when we need it. But we prefer to use

Just a comment on your goal... going from a 26 to a 16 in less than 4 months is a HUGE goal and I am not sure it is a healthy one or realistic. Please know I am not meaning to criticize... I just like to see people doing this the healthy way and also that you are not setting yourself up with an unrealistic goal so that you are facing disappointment.

What type of plan are you on? Eating and exercise, etc.

I wish you the best of success! Congratulations on your 13 pounds... great start!

Hi Tina!

You've already made a great start! Like Misti said, you may not be able to get quite as small as you want to be by December 15, but I bet you can come pretty close. I've gone from a size 24 to an 18 in 2 months. A lot of it depends on your body chemistry and what kind of weight loss plan you are on. Please, please, please don't try to do it in any way that's not healthy--you will only regret it later. I lost my weight by cutting out processed foods, cutting portion size, and LOTS of gym workouts and walking.

Welcome, and good luck!
