  • Thanks for the welcome. Today was my first day i have not taken any diet pills . I am trying to drink a lot of water but i had a piece of pizza today and 4 crackers with PB (reduced fat ofcourse).

I am starting on Slimfast tommorow just the shakes. will keep everyone posted.

It was a very gloomy day with rain andthunder.(king of prussia, pa) A day where you want to eat and watch tv. Yeah i just glanced at my threadmill that's all but was tooooooo lazy to get on it. I really think i am missing the excercise gene in my body

Normally i atleast take my dog out for a walk but i could not do that because of the rain hope it's all better day tommoorow.

    take care.
  • I don't want to discourage you but, I hope your not planning to live on just slim fast! I was on optifast @ a hospital and you may lose a few pounds fast but, it's mostly water, I found that you could chew on a small salad and a little lean protien and it will have less fat and calories. You could have a slim fast for lunch and a snack. Those drinks just aren't filling enough to get you through the night.
  • Yes, I agree! I used SlimFast for some time and lost weight, but I didn't learn how to eat healthy and just gained it back. I now use protein shakes to supplement meals and have learned how to eat the right foods and the right portions through Weight Watchers. There are many eating programs (don't call them diets) that will help you learn a new lifesyle of eating. That is truly the only way that you will be able to continue to lose and keep the pounds off.

The first thing I did when I made a commitment to lose and be healthy, was to clean out all junk or high carb foods from my house. They I stocked up on vegtables, fruits, and lean meats such as fish and turkey. I used the South Beach Diet book as a guide to portions and I went on their two week jump start diet to get my body ready for the shock it was about to endure. I lost 10 pounds at the end of those two weeks. I joined WW the first of July because I felt like I was not doing as well as I had when I was a member 5 years ago. I'm not suggesting that you do either, just that you incorporate food into you meals as you will not know how to control your eating when you become tired of just shakes.

I don't want you to set yourself up for failure as I did. Losing weight and changing to a healthy lifestyle is so difficult for those of us who have problems with eating sweets, fatty foods with no portion control. I know because that was where I was when the Dr said that I must change or have Type 2 Diabetes and heart problems.
