Default I am in this for the long haul

Hello, 3FC world! My name is Kris. I'm getting myself organized for the road ahead, and thought I should start off by introducing myself. I have decided that July 13 is THE day when I will change my life (which just so happens to coincide with my return to work after a much needed 16-day vacation).

For the past few years, my priorities have been way out of wack. I've become a complete workaholic, for starters. I spend more hours at work than anywhere else and that is going to change. I want to be more present in my life... and actually have a life!

In the next week, I will be meeting with a nutritionist, a doctor, and a trainer. I'm not going to let myself fail. I need a feasible plan of action, accountability, and support if I am going to do this! I want to be a support to others, too.

Here is some information about me:

I'm 25 years old, married for four years to my high school sweetheart Justin. We have two great kids, Gabrielle (born 2/12/03) and Spencer (born 2/12/04). My husband quit his job to be a stay-at-home dad when our daughter was born, and he's phenomenal. He is not my motivation for starting on this new path, but I know that my relationship can only improve as my self confidence and energy go up!

Height: 5 ft 4 in
Weight: 180
Fitness goal: 3x week/gym plus 1x week family activity
Emotional goal: find healthier balance to life, prioritize differently
Weight loss goal: lose 50 pounds in 52 weeks/1 year

I look forward to the next year, and finding the new me. Can't wait to become an active participant on this site! Thanks for having me.

Good luck!

Hi Kris!

Welcome! You sound like you're definitely ready to go and have a good plan set out for yourself!!

I've been here only 2 weeks, and doing great!!! If nobody mentioned it yet.. the fitday website helps keep track of calories. www.fitday.com go check it out. It's a bit to get used to at first, but once you get all of the foods you normally will eat into the database, you can re enter that same food again no problem. I didn't like it for the first few days and didn't want to do it, but now, I am really happy with it.

Kris,

THANKS!! I am super happy about it myself. And it doesn't even seem as hard now that I've detoxed from the bad food. Just gotta keep focused and it will happen!! This forum really helps me keep my mind focused on it, too.

Welcome Kris!!

I love 3FC because of all the support here! There is always at least one person going through something similar to you.....and it's so good to be in a place where you feel like some of your frustrations are understood.

We have similar weights/goal weights. Your kids are so close together....you must be amazing!!! It sounds like you've got some really great goals. Good luck. We're all here for you!
