Talking Portland, Oregon 267lbs on WW.. not a mom

Hi, I'm in Portland Oregon... go to the WW in Beaverton... starting weigh 267.2 lbs.. looking for weight loss buddy.. I'm 37, don't have any kids.. I don't care if you do and I love kids but I can't relate to "baby weight".. I'm just FAT. Hopefully I can find other women in Portland who'd like to keep in touch via e/mail and possibly meet.

Hi! I'm up north a bit but wanted to welcome you! I used to live in Portland... love the city! So familiar with where Beaverton is.

Hi Mindy! And thanks for the encouragement. Actually I am doing it pretty much the old fashioned way! Just eating lots of fruits, veggies, protein, etc., and very little processed food, no junk, etc... and exercising a lot. I've still got a ways to go but I feel so much better than I did 50 pounds ago!!!

What about you? Any specific plan?

BTW I used to live in the Milwaukie area.... loved Portland!!!

Hi, I'm on WW too (online subscriber). I've lost 27lbs so far and have 48 to go. I did have "baby fat" to loose, but that has since come off. I'm now working on the actual fat I've had my whole life. I don't live in Portland, but would love to offer support all the same. If you ever need recipes let me know, I enjoy looking through the WW recipes.

Hi Mangogirl, I live in Salem, Oregon so fairly close to ya. I'm 38 and have 3 kids but my weight is not from having babies, I've always been heavy. I have lost 27 pounds on my own, but joined WW yesterday with my Mom, so have started doing that now. I'm not in Portland but would be happy to be a buddy with you, I'm not too far from Portland and make it up that way once in awhile. Welcome to the boards and good luck on your weight loss!!

Helloooo... thanks you guys for replying to my post! yah, it's nice to have others to talk to about this.
Misit - I am on WW.. About 5 years ago I weighed 355 lbs.. lost 135 by doing WW, but really I wasn't *doing* WW I just needed/wanted the weekly weigh in to keep me on track/accountable. When I lost 135lbs I was a workout queen.. I mean waaaay to much .. there was NO way I could keep up that schedule forever so when I cut back I gained a few pounds.. then I got bummed out.. so I worked out less.. and so forth and so on.. soo... I'm back up to 267.. my lowest weight was 208 for like 5 seconds.. but I honestly felt really good in my skin at 220 so that is my goal for now.
My weigh in's are on Monday.. my goal the first 2 weeks was not to even think about the gym but to walk 5x a week 30 min each time or more.. after the 2nd week I will continue walking (gotta get the sun while we can) and commit to 1x at the gym... 4th week I will commit 2x a week and walking.. will stay like that and see how my weight loss is going. * what kind of exercising do you do now?? Why'd ya move??!?!?!?

Wyattsmama- Congrats on your weight loss ! wooo hooo..... good for you! Where are you? I LOVE to cook, it's not really the weather right now but one of my all time favorite recipes is a WW 2pt chile.. LOVE IT. Have you ever heard of it/ tried it?

MelodyL- Welcome Happy to see someone so close.. We are very close to the same weight... What days to you weigh in? How did you find losing the first 27 lbs on your own? Congrats on those pounds! How many pounds b/4 people started noticing you were losing? HOw are you feeling? Wasn't it beautiful today ?? (sigh) ahhhh.. summer .
