New girl from PA

  • Hello to everyone,

    interests: reading, writing, gardening, cooking,sewing

    I've been looking around the 3 fat chicks community for a couple of days and just got up the nerve to join. I think this might be exactly what i need to jump start my weightloss again. I joined TOPS in March and not wanting to pay the fines got me to lose 28 lbs quite quickly, but i have leveled off and it's getting a little depressing. I know one of my major problems is eating out of boredom (when i just I know eating the doritos will be more interesting than what i am currently doing ) so i thought this might be a good alternative activity.
    Some stuff about me might be a good idea here:i have atleast 60 more pounds to lose. i've always had a weight problem and just got serious about it this year. I absolutely hate exercise, but force myself to hop on the treadmill most days, do kickboxing, yoga and tai chi DVDs twice a week, and use the elliptical machine sometimes. I like swimming but am not very good at it and while i got on my mountain bike today thinking i wasn't thatunhealthy, boy was i red faced and gasping by the end of the ride, lol!
    i was hoping to find one or two people to chat with, maybe someone from PA, OH, or NY? I look forward to chatting with everyone onlist or off!

    Welcome to fat chicks....it's a great place here. I love being able to "talk" to people going through some of the same things you are.

    Good for you for exercising! Have you used a kickboard in the pool?? Sometimes I like that better than actually swimmin.

  • Hey, I'm a new girl from PA too. I just posted something under "Another New Gril from PA". I'm 30 and weigh 186 but would love to be 140. My first goal is 160. I've been told taking smaller steps is easier. I recently joined TOPS too but haven't done to well with eat. A friend of mine went to LA Weight Loss and lost over 50 pounds so I'm trying that eating plan. I started last Wednesday, July 5 and it seems to be pretty easy and I think one of the better eating plans. You get a good variety of things. Take care and keep in touch.
  • i have a kickboard for the pool, i wasn't 100% sure just what to do with it. i got some foam weights for in the water too, those are awesome, they really work your muscles getting on the tredmill has been really hard this week, i think i'm losing interest. Maybe some new music will help, Any suggestions?
  • suggestions for machine cardio
    May I suggest Cardio Coach or itrain for cardio machine workouts? I find the voice over guidance helps me focus and work harder than I otherwise would. YMMV of course.
