Default Another newbie on this site...

Hi~

I'm 50, need to lose 50-60 pounds, and definitely need some direction/advice on where to start. Tried Sonoma diet...flavor was great, but too time consuming. I'm guessing maybe just calorie counting? Would like a more formalized diet though, as I tend to wander around munching while I'm trying to decide what to eat. Suggestions, ideas, motivation tips? Thanks!

Welcome ginjaboo,

I would like to invite you to read my thread here's the link. http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85941 I am over 50 and need to loose about the same amount of weight. I have been "fixin to" (I'm from Texas) for about 5 years and have been up and down on the scales. I watched an infomercial on Turbo Jam and found this thread by doing a search on it. I wanted to research "real people", not paid actors.

I must say that it was the very best thing I have ever done. Turbo Jam is part of http://www.beachbody.com I am using their website to plan meals and it's been very helpful.

This past Monday, I started a 10-Day Kick Start Challenge and was amazed at how many others on the thread joined in.

3 Fat Chicks on a Diet has a variety of workout videos and thread where you can get just about any advise you could imagine.

Check it out--we would love to have another participate and believe after you read the posts, you will find the motivation, support and encouragement to reach your goal.

Good Luck!
Linda

Hello and welcome! I'm 59 and still have a bit to lose too! Can't offer any diet advice since I much prefer to plan it on my own... but hope you find what you are looking for. There is LOTS of support here for many different kinds of diets.
