Talking Anyone wants to challenge this newbie here??

Hey There! I've been 135lbs for the past year now and am wanting to get back to my normal weight of 115. I'm only 5'0 so even one pound looks a lot on me. I'm pretty much a yo yo dieter so I'm not sure how my metabolism is right now. I think right now I want to focus on how many calories I'm consuming and of course I'm trying to stray from sugar and bad carbs.

As for working out. I used to be a runner a few years back but since having kids it was hard for me to run outside. So I just jog on the treadmill which gets boring or else I walk my dog while my girls ride their bikes. There are only 4 and 6 yrs old so they don't ride all that fast. I use dumbells, resistance training and such. My problem is motivation. I don't know I just don't feel like working out hard core like I used to. So here I am and I am ready to give it another try and really be serious about losing this weight. It's mostly around my tummy and hips and not to mention I got big boobies so on this 5'0 frame of mine I'm out of proportion.

So about the challenge.......I like challenges but I want to challenge someone is losing pounds lost but to be fair you would have to be about my size or so. Any takers out there???

I'm with you on the short and overweight thing! You are so right, if I gain 1 pound it looks like I've gained 5! I'm 5'1 and 149.6!! For the longest time I was lingering at 139 and then it seems like overnight I got all the way up to 149.6. My goal is to get to 120 by my birthday in September. But it always seems like it takes months for me to lose 5 lbs. I'm trying to get back on track. I started my exercise and diet on Monday and so far so good. I'm going to count calories and my exercise is going something like this:
MWF: Strength training and run 2 miles
TThSat: run 3 to 4 miles
My short term goal, which is very unrealistic, I would like to get down to 139 by May 20th. My boyfriends cousin is getting married and I have a strapless dress that I'm going to wear, and my arms look like stuffed sausages and my tummy pokes out I'm totally in with the challenge, just let me know all the details!

Hi Slimby and emzi,

I kinda want a very challenging competition friendly kinda smack of course. Thats the only way I can get motivated. Lets say whatever your goal is to be by Sept 1st and whoever either reached that goal or closest to it wins. But then we can also have bi monthly goals as well so there will be a winner bimonthly till Sept 1st.

How does that sound to you guys? We also have to post our workouts and what kind of woe plan we are all on. I'm pretty much going to count calories so I'm going to try not to go over my calorie limit per say.

We can also go by points if you want.

What do you guys think?

I would love to join in some friendly competition. I am a shortie too. I have been lazy about my workouts. Anyone interesting in a challenge of workouts a minimal of 5 days a week. I want to workout using Pilates for those 5 days to lose more weight and firm up. I would love to be at my goal weight by September 1st.

I'm so excited about the challenge!!! Hopefully it'll be just the thing I need to stay motivated and on track! I'm also hoping other things fall in place this month, like getting better at working from home....I've always wanted to work from home, and now that I have the opportunity I didn't realize how hard it is to concentrate! So my goals are to have daily exercise and increase phone calls and in person visits. All of my sales books say that if you need to lose weight, do it! Well I'll be posting at the end of the day with my exercise and points! Good luck everyone!

Good morning and happy Friday! I am updating my stats for today. i have a question, is yoga strength or cardio? I did 35 minutes this morning and am not sure if i counted it right. I counted it towards strength training.

Thanks! I am already feeling more motivated.

I would probably count yoga has strength training. You must do all your workouts in the morning!!! Are you on the east coast?

Where did everyone else go?? I am pms'ing today and feel a little bloated so I am going to have to run on the treadmill today and sweat it all out. I'm also going to have to resist anything w/ sodium in it otherwise I'll gain like a few pounds of just water.
