Hey there everyone-- I'm Erin. I currently live in Eastern NC but we are moving soon to Northern VA. My husband is in the Marine Corps, and we have a two year old daughter. When my husband came home from his last tour in Iraq I decided that I really needed to loose some major weight. He is a first class in his PFT, and I want to be able to keep up with him. So-- I have a long way to go, but I know I can do it, and I KNOW I'm going to need support!

Hey! I'm actually calorie counting. I have had SO many friends that have lost 75, 80 plus pounds just counting calories. I can see why it works so well too-- I like to eat BUT if I watch how much I'm eating and write it all down, I do so much better-- Also, if I want those MandMs I can have them-- They just go down as part of my calorie intake. My doc told me that I should be almost to my goal in less than a year, which is so awesome. I gotta say, I really got motivated when I walked into the doctors office (please remember I go to a Naval Hospital and the docs are all super trim and fit), and he said, well you need to make a major change in your life or I'm going to seriously recommend gastric by-pass. I was like WOAH. The only downside I'm having is that I can't hang out with my only friend down here because she is happy being heavy, and I just can't join on to that eating plan/lifestyle anymore. I love to excersise though-- and I'm looking forward to being able to run.

I'm a calorie counter too. There is now way I could follow a diet that says "you can't eat this". I love food way to much. I'm with you if I want a candy bar or what ever then I simple make sure that it fits within my calories and its in motiration.
As far as your friend maybe your change in habits will rub off on her and she might just jump on the band wagon with you. If not you can always come here.
I struggled with the same thing only all of my friends are already thin. I guess that's why I like it here. I have found so many people that can truly relate to what I'm going through.

My friend is the type that says she'll do something, but then totally doesn't. I'm a little tired of being held back. So, I'm just making changes myself FOR myself. I'm tired of having to look for higher sizes of clothing (I'm in a 20 pants and 1x top)-- my husband wants me to look cute, but that is hard to do when all you want to wear is a mumu! I also want to be able to go out with him, and have fun-- Instead of being self consious taht everyone is looking at me. So thats why I'm here-- and I'm sure glad I found this place!
