Unhappy Fat, Forty, and Frustrated!

Hello, I am new and my name is Laura. Married with 4 children and 1 grandchild.

I have tried for years to lose the weight that I started packing on about six years ago.

I am now 40 and even though my dh says he doesn't care what I look like, he loves me just the same, my 3 year old is always calling me "fat butt". I know that she doesn't know any better, but she is obviously aware that her mother is in bad shape and I just want it to all go away.

Along with diabetes, heal factiatis, and hypothyroidism, I have little if any energy. When I walk up and down stairs, my knees feel like they are going to buckle below me and I am starting to get depressed. I HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPRESSED IN MY LIFE BEFORE NOW! I have always been the optimistic, upbeat gal that everyone loves to be around, now I am just a fat lump of self-pity and really need some motivation.

Sorry to have this go on and on...

Laura

Hi Laura and

This is a great place to be for support. What eating program are you following and what are you doing for exercise?

Check in often and I'm sure you'll find a lot of encouragement here.

Wishing You The Best
Denise

Hi Laura! I understand how you're feeling. I know you can get out of this slump! I've got the heal factiatis thing starting up, too. Hopefully getting the weight down for all of us will reverse the bad health and injuries. Good luck to you!

Hi Everyone
My name is Ida, and I have been battling weight for years also, I am 38 y.o
happily married with two beautiful children. And I really need to make this weight loss successful for my health also. My husband doesn't seem to mind the weight, but I know I am taking years off of my life. I want to be as healthy and active as possible and I know I am stifled with the weight. I have done well, up until 3 weeks ago and I have been struggling the last few. But I really want to keep going and get to my goal. So today I start anew, again, with you ladies if you dont mind, and maybe we can get to goal together.

Hey Gals, thanks so much for the replies! I just re-read my post, didn't realize how pitiful I sounded...lol, but I guess we all have days like that now don't we???

I feel so fortunate to have been able to find others struggling like myself. How wonderful that we can all be together to help motivate one another. I will be setting a few goals for myself here yet tonight and making about 20 lists of my goals. Then I'm going to post them all over the house so that I can't forget what they are... for instance. My list will consist of

1.) drink water
2.) exercise/stretch
3.) breath deep from the abdomen
4.) eat something healthy
5.) smile

so when I see one of these lists taped to my bathroom mirror, refrigerator, dryer, bedroom door, wherever, it will remind me to do something right then and there.

Hey, I think I just made my list!!! That wasn't so hard.... now to put it into action. Anyone care to join me??

Laura
