Talking Hi I Am New Here

Hello everyone! I am new here to the site and would just like to introduce myself. My name is Gina and I want to lose 45lbs. (hopefully before my anniversary in August). I made myself a twelve-week workout calendar and I am five weeks into it. I have only missed four days of working out in 5 weeks and I have been watching what I eat very closely. My clothes are getting baggy (good sign right?) and I feel a whole lot better. I have increased my endurance tremendously! The first day of working out I could only walk for 12 minutes and I was winded! Now, I walk at least 4-6 miles a day and I am gradually including weight training. I have taken two sets of pictures now. One the first day I started and another just a few days ago and I am already seeing the difference! I promised myself that I would stay off of the scale until my 12-week calendar was full. I have tried to lose weight before and the scale was my enemy and it ultimately made me quit so I am staying off of it!! So, that's my story. I hope to make some new friends here to keep up my motivation. Thank you Lesa for the referral

Welcome and well done on sticking to your plan for so long

You seem really determined to do this for yourself and you are obviously on the right track. The progress you described is great and I wish you lots of luck on completing your 12 week calender. There is so much support here and lots of things (and people! ) to help keep you on track.

Hi Gina,
This is my first post on this forum & I am pleased I read yours. I think the info on staying of the scales might be something I should look at. I too find the scales a friend or foe... If I have lost then I am happy & motivated to continue, If I have not then it might as well all be over..yet again.

I want to loose about 8 kilos or 17 pounds. I have done a lot more then that before but have become quite slack & unmotivated, I find I am eating now just for the sake of it thinking I did it before I can do it again but it is not so easy anymore. I need some help & motivation. I am planning on starting my assult this Monday. Any help, support & supportfrom EVERONE is appreciated.

Hi Gina, it sounds like you have a great plan going there! I had about 36 pounds to lose and have so far lost 12 (I'm not counting the one I gained this week because, well, I just don't want to! lol) ao that leaves me with about 24 or so to go. I tend to weigh myself each day but I'm starting to feel that may not be such a good thing as I've been letting it affect my attitude for the day.


Hey Maggzs, how are you planning to lose the weight? I basically count calories (low fat, sodium and sugar) and exercise my butt off (literally, lol).




I'm going for the end of May to reach my goal as that's my 40th birthday and want to "fit & fabulous" by then.

Hi Mrs Moby,
Thanks for you reply. I am not really sure how I plan to do it...How daft does that sound??? I guess mostly it will be just limiting what I do put into my mouth.... as of late this has been just about anything I see!

I will be looking at low fat for sure but I dont really know enough info about the other stuff. Also I read something Oprah does & that is eating every 3 hours, I thank that may hold some credit.

I turn 40 just after you (June) so I to am hoping to loose the lot by then It may not be that much in the grand scheme of things but for me it might as well be 100 pounds.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO at least you lost. When I am sick I generally tend to comfort eat. My Monday went well & at this minute Tuesday isnt going to bad but I know the next few days will be a challenge as I am in for a very stressfull time with a member of my staff, but hopefully some of this will be sorted in a few weeks.... That or she finally quits! I live in hope.
