hey everyone im new to this site, im from bc canada, and im a 22 yr female looking to lose some weight.
i moved in with my bf in 2004 and since then i have picked up his poor eating habits, and gained over 90 pounds. well im sick of not fitting into any of my clothes except sweats and tshirts, so its time for me to get back in shape. im thinking of trying the south beach diet, ive heard from several people that it can work very well if you follow it properly. but my problem is i like to munch out with the snack food wo well see how it goes...lol.
if anyone has any suggestions for me to help with my weight loss id sure like to hear them! ive always been chubby but this is the first time in my life ive decided to stand up and do something about it, and im excited! i know it will be hard but i cant wait until i look like my old self again, hopefully i will look even better and be healthier too!
im looking forward to hearing from all of you who are going through this now too. take care all and ill talk to ya later!
I had the same problem when I met my husband. He was eating the bachelor diet and when I went over there I ate that way too. Its amazing when you think about what your parents feed you. I never gained weight until I moved out. Now I appreciate all of the "eat your vegetables" stuff. Of course now that I am on my diet I buy food just for me and then he can eat what ever he wants. Ill buy food for him but I have to make sure that I stick to my food and that he sticks to his. Its is just something that you have to get used to. I had to talk to him and tell him that I was starting a diet and that I needed the food in the drawer in the fridge was mine and that he can eat the rest. So far it isnt too bad. Both of you will have to learn and change some habits even if he isnt starting the diet too. Good luck.
Ah, the snacking. So good while you do it, and you feel so bad about it after! I think a good plan to help with that is to cut up apples or carrots or celery-- something good to snack on-- beforehand, so when you're browsing around for something easy you can just grab a bag of healthy food and head back to the tv. Or, if you absolutely need your cheese nips, you can always ration the box out into lots of little baggies and then you'll just eat that one bag, instead of absentmindedly going through the whole container.
I love that you're so excited about this, and I wish you the best of luck! Maybe you'll even motivate your boyfriend to diet and exercise with you!
