Hi everyone!! I'm new here, and looking for a serious diet buddy. I have 109 lbs to loose. I don't have any certain date to loose it by. I live in Alabama, and just need someone to e-mail everyday for support. Can anyone help? I will also give support, but I need someone to motivate me.
I am new also ( joined a few days ago) I would be glad to be an email buddy with you. . You and I are close in the amount we need to shed, which I think is good motivation also. Let me know if you would like my email addy, and I will pm it to you.
A journey of 1000 miles, begins with a single step.
Hi, I live in Oklahoma and I'm 26 years old, married, mother of 2. I have to lose 120 pounds, and I certainly need a buddy! I've already started working out regularly with my husband as my personal trainer. I've been at it for 4 weeks now. But I would like to lose the majority of the weight by May, that's when I'm going to Florida to meet my birth mother for the first time. So if you want someone to check in with everyday, I'll do that with you! Because I'm on the 'puter everyday, and I could certainly use a friend to tell how my workout went to night before and to be excited with me. And I'm a great motivator and encourager! So let me know if you want to be my buddy!
I AM 31 WITH ALOT TO LOSE I LOVE THE MOTIVATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY I GET WITH ALL MY EMAIL FRIENDS. MY ADD IS [email protected] I WOULD LIVE TO HAVE YOU AS A BUDDY. I AM EXCERCISING AND TRYING TO WATCH WHAT I EAT BUT ITS A STRUGGLE.
Hi, I am also new to this site. I have hovered around it before, but never started posting replies. I also have at least 100 pounds to lose. I have been denying it for a long time but it is time to start facing the facts and the weight. I am 38 with two children and a really want to be around to watch them grow up. That is my greatest fear. I don't have a time frame and I haven't even settled on a plan. I was starting to exercise more and then got sick and have gotten off track. What is everyone else doing?
The more the merrier. we can have our own lil YRUFAT party, and rearrange the letters some!
Ok who is up for a laugh? I can't believe I did this, much less that I am about to share it. But what the heck! We have to maintain a sence of humor through this walk.
This morning I opened the fridge and there staring me in the face was some left over birthday cake. Quick as a bunny I closed the fridge door and made tracks with my milk jug. Went away for a few hours. Opened the fridge door and saw the cake. UMMMMMmmmmmmm said I, as the cakes called out to me! I think the exact thought was. You can eat the cake and restart your count in the morrow. The nerve! . I closed the door again saying outloud. No way, no how.. dang girl you need to get control lol. I came to the puter, sat down and it hit me. As long as that cake was in there I was tempted to eat it. So back I went, opened the fridge door, said UMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm as I pulled it out, stood there looking at it for a minute and then promptly turned it into the garbage. Then I took the filter out of my coffee pot and dumped the grounds on the cake. No more desire as it no longer looked good. I was Sybil's sister for sure talking to myself outloud during this incident! Good to meet you other newbies! How long do we get away with saying that lol!
Grossmom- It is really important to set goals for ourselves. That way we have a measurement of how we are coming along. Set mini goals ( that are achievable). I am counting calories/making healthier choices. Going the good old fashioned way here.
Hey Everyone!!! Let's all be buddy's. So far roday this has alredy helped me. Just reading that I am not alone on this journey has given me some control. If anyone wants to e-mail me, I'm at [email protected]. I would really enjoy supporting others, while getting support.
Doll-I figured you may have! Still can't get in yet. if it goes on for to long I will pm you an alternate addy. Glad you liked the story. I grabbed hubby when he came home and hauled him to the can. Showed him what I stowed in there, and laughed. He smiled and said.. I would have eaten it for ya, if I knew you wanted it gone. HA!! Not a chance, if I can't have it he is not gonna either hehe.
Ladies- I am not sure who knows this, and who doesn't.. If you post your email addy on forums and such it will increase the level of spam that is sent to you. Web crawlers go through looking for email addys to send stuff to.
I have added you all to my buddy list! I say we check in every morning and say how you did the day before on eating and exercising, and then offer encouragement for that day. For instance,
Yesterday, Monday, I did alright on my foods. I kind of splurged at dinner which I'm not too proud of. But then I went up to the YMCA and walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Basically my husband has laid out a plan for me, and he has encouraged me to not focus on the WEIGHT, but have another goal in mind. Mine is I want to be able to jog a mile. So he planned out this for me:
Week 1: Walk fast 1 minute, walk slow 4 minutes--repeat for 30 minutes
Week 2: Walk fast 2 minutes, walk slow 3 minutes--repeat for 30 minutes
Week 3: Walk fast 3 minutes, walk slow 3 minutes--repeat for 30 minutes
Week 4: Walk fast 5 minutes, walk slow 5 minutes--repeat for 30 minutes
Week 5: Walk fast 10 minutes, walk slow 5 minutes--repeat for 30 minutes
Week 6: Walk fast 15 mintues, walk slow 5 minutes--one more time (actually it works out to be 40 minutes)
Week 7: Walk fast 20 minutes, walk slow 5 minutes--one more time (actually it works out to be 50 minutes)
Week 8: Walk fast 25 minutes, walk slow 5 minutes = 30 minutes
Week 9: Walk fast 30 minutes!
Then you move to jogging and you start with
Week 1: Jog 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes-repeat for 30 minutes
Week 2: Jog 5 minutes, walk 5 minutes-repeat for 30 minutes
Week 3: Jog 10 minutes, walk 5 minutes-repeat for 30 minutes
Week 4: Jog 15 minutes, walk 5 minutes (twice=40 minutes)
Week 5: Jog 20 minutes, walk 5 minutes (twice=50 minutes)
Week 6: Jog 25 minutes, walk 5 minutes
Week 7: Jog 30 minutes! (it will end up being more than 1 mile!)
All that to say this, focus on something else (mine-jogging) and the weight will be a by-product of that! I also add in weights on Tuesdays and Thursdays and I do abs everyday. My husband is an incredible encouragement to me, but I need some ladies who understand how hard it is for LADIES to take off weight......especially mommas. So let's be each other's encouragers and just love on one another and WE CAN DO IT!!!!!
Thanks, Razz, for the encouragement. Goals are important and I really need to set some down on paper. Everyone in our house has been passing a stomach bug around this week and I am trying to get our lives back on track.
We are all in this together! Sorry to hear your family is not feeling the best! Will whisper for the tummy bug to take a hike!
All things in their time, you can set goals once you are all healthy again. Glad you liked the story. I truely believe that encouraging one another is what will make a difference for us. One step at a time will get us down the road. Then we will look back in amazement about how far we travelled.
