Oh, That sounds like a challenge, but you could have just on donut if that is something you really want and eat a whole pile of veggies the rest of the day. Good job on the house cleaning, I count that as exercise!

Bubblegum,
Slow down take a deep breath and try to relax. It is just one step back. I don't know what you have available there for sugarless products but you must have something. If you can make a low fat brownie recipe or check on the board for some sweets that you can use instead of what everyone else is having. Also clean and prepare some of your favorite fruits so you can just reach into the fridge and have something nice. Remember that staying on track is how you are taking care of you. Don't quite, don't cry just decide that you are going to make a fresh start. Each minute is an fresh opportunity to begin again. Now find something that you can do successfully, like preparing a special treat just for you and that is your starting success. Success builds on itself so once you have 1 thing you can keep it going, I know you can do it. Stay Strong!! |
HI Everyone, :)
I am trying to lose 10 more lbs by Christmas, so I would like to join your group. I am trying to get down to 199 by then. That is my short term goal. My long term goal is 135. I have to set short goals or it is too daunting. |
Holy Calories Batman!!! I was only gone a day and a half and there are several new faces!! I see that house cleaning and re-arrangement are a theme...I took down all the blinds in the house this morning (7 of them) filled the tub and cleaned them all and cleaned the windows. Boyfriend helped but got me out of bed...moving...and was done by around noon!
I see the candy struggle going around...I sit with my grandmother most years so don't even bring it in the house...this year that is a huge plus...what a temptation...I admire those really able to keep it at bay...everyone seems to be doing such a good job. Tomorrow I think I'll hop on the scale and see what it tells me (today is my last day of vacation...time to get serious!) Toodles for now everyone!! cj |
Welcome Beckywright!
Great to have you join us, I hate exercise too but am trying to just increase my walking now by parking farther away until I get a bit stronger, then back to my Richard Simmons tapes. There are some great recipes on the site and I have a great chili recipe and a great crustless pumpkin pie which you can find on this thread. I also recommend "No Pudge Brownies" for those of you who love chocolate they are excellent and only 2 points. I am making another pan this afternoon as the whole family love them. |
Welcome, Brattypattie,
Happy you found us, small short term goals are the way to go for sure! |
Hi CJ,
Good Luck on the scale, we have quite a group now with over 25 people we are going to lose some serious pounds by Christmas! |
Time To Plan For The Holidays!
I know we are just getting Halloween :) out of the way, but now is the time to start planning our Holiday strategies and Menus. If we get planning now we won't have as many unexpected hurdles to have to deal with.
I am planning on starting 2 new threads this week, Probably on Wednesday. The first is, Favorite Low Calorie Holiday Recipe the second is, My Best Tip For Surviving The Holidays I think we need to get these 2 threads going so everyone has a chance to gather the tools they need to stay strong and stay on program through to the New Year If we all post a few recipes and a few tips we should have all the weapons we need to SUCCEED! :woo: |
Sherri,
You are an angel!!!!! Thank You so much for all of the encouragement and support. Thanks to ALL OF YOU!! I love the idea of the recipes and the survival tips. I'll see what I can come up with to post. With the help of my daughter I have done better the last couple of days. She is making me accountable for what I put in my mouth. I send her an email at the end of every day listing all that enters my mouth. It has really helped. (Not to mention given us a reason to keep in touch.) She is clear across the country from me and I miss her very much. I haven't worked out the last 2 days but starting Monday will get back at it. I hate to see the weather get cold. I'll miss my walks. Enjoy your evening everyone. Type at ya tomorrow. TJ |

Great idea for the new posts. I am going to have to see what I can find for recipes. Plus I am sure I can think of some good stratgies. I am definitely going to try to make that crustless pumpkin pie for the holidays. Yummy.
Gosh, it was so nice today. We went for a nice little walk. The time change is really doing a number on my DD. Not to mention it getting darker sooner. Yuck. I hate that. We've already seen snow. I am hoping that it is a somewhat mild winter. Ok.. off to finish dinner. I am going to have a great big salad. Expect I am using shredded cabbage instead of lettuce. It love the crunchiness of it and I like to top it with tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper and carrots. Have a great night all. |
Ok I've been playing around and I think I finally got this ticker stuff figured out and I wanted to try it out. I think I'll like seeing my success every time I post.

Welcome SnAsMommy, good to have you here, it is always hard to take care of ourselves when we have littles to worry about. Remember you need to put yourself 1st once in awhile though.
I am searching through all my things to find my favorite holiday recipes and some winning strategies and I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. I just spent the afternoon making treat bags for all of the kids in my son's kindergarden class, trying to make it half sweets and half non candy treats from the dollar store. I will be so glad when this holiday is over, It's my TOM and those chips and cheesies are starting to call me. I will be in control, I will be in control, I will be in control.... |
weigh in
morning everyone!
well im pleased because ive lost 1lb!! slow and sure wins the race!! will post again later, have work to do!! |
I would love to lose 20 pounds by christmas. its a lofty goal for me because my weight loss has been stumped, and now i consider myself a maintainer, but 20 pounds would have me right where i want to be i think.
I have a habit of starting threads like this and then disappearing, but i think that i am ready to buckle down and just lose the rest of my weight. i know i can do it. i don't have a scale so i can't weigh in regularly (which is probably a good thing) so i'll just keep up with calorie intake and workout schedule and post them up here. just an fyi for you ladies, i don't a limit on calories daily, i just try to keep it under 1700 most days with a couple of higher days around the weekend. my main focus is staying active because i know i can keep weight off if i stay active, and i don't want to have to count calories simply to maintain weight. long post i know. best of luck to everyone. see you soon. oh yeah, today i took the dog for a 20 minute walk and did 30 minutes of yoga. |
