Hi, I'm and "older" lady too, short like you, 5'1", and have a few pounds to lose also. I'm not a vegetarian but try to make sure I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, little meat. I do try to exercise every day. It's not easy to find the time but it sure makes a difference in the way you feel and the weight loss too. I get lazy sometimes and skip a few days but my body misses it. I also try to lift weights every other day for upper body strength. Us women are know for poor upper body strength. It also helps with the osteoperosis.
