  • Just wanted to welcome you. I would say just take it one day at a time. Start with your diet and portion control. Drink plenty of water. And as far as exercising, start out simple and work your way up. That's what I am doing. I am doing a routine for a week and if I feel comfortable with it then I up my time or reps and go for another week. Plus I am looking at getting some videos to do at home. THe ultimate goal would to be able to get a treadmill or something for the house. We have a rowing machine but I'd like to have a little variety.

But don't give up. If you believe you can do it, you can. You just have to believe in yourself and go for it. You'll find so much motivation and support here. Surf around the forum and check out the different posts. I am sure you'll find more places to get more advice and help. Again welcome and good luck.
  • Hi Liz,

Welcome ~ it is such a nice place here ~ great people who are encouraging, inspiring, understanding. Explore around and jump in and enjoy. I post down in the 100 lb club area ~ it is a nice group there.

I am 50 also. Married, 3 grown kids, one little grandson age 8 (light of my life). I have been struggling with the weight most of my adult life. It goes up and down ~ I do better sometimes than others. I am sort of always working on it ~ I guess that is a good thing though, because if I just gave up and didn't try some of the time, I think I would be in a lot worse shape than I am in.

Anyway, welcome ~ glad you're here.

    Take care
