Want a buddy to share accountability...Anyone??

  • Hi!

    I am a stay at home mom of two kids (4 and 2) and need to lose about 40 lbs. I am really struggling with sticking to anything and think I would do better if I had to be accountable to someone else.

    So, I am looking for a buddy who would like to check in with each other and offer encouragement and accountability via email or this forum. I know there are support group meetings that help with this but I don't want to go to meetings.

    I know I can change but right now need a little help.

    Anyone?

  • Hi Cat! I too am a stay-at-home mom. I have a son who is 14 months old. I need to lose 80 pounds overall and have lost 20 so far. I have 4 mini-goals of 20 pounds each. I was doing well until last week when I gained 2 pounds.

    What sort of eating plan, if any, are you doing? I'm not doing any specific plan. I have cut out sweets (refined sugars) almost entirely, with the occasional small indulgence. I've also cut way down on all meats, have added whole grains, brown rice, tons of veggies, and fruit. My eating habits were so horrible before I changed, that there really was nowhere to go but up (well, nowhere to go but down since we're talking about weight!).

    Are you exercising? With little ones, I know it can be hard, especially since you have two. Luckily for me, so far, my little guy still takes two naps a day. So I do lifting in the morning and cardio (usually a treadmill) in the afternoon. Then in the evenings I take him for a walk in his stroller.

    There is a thread under "Support Groups" called Slimmin' SAHMmies that some of us stay-at-home moms get together and we'd love to have you join us.

    Sorry, I posted here and them my internet connection went on the blitz so I am just getting back on. I am really motivated to do this right now but need alot of will power. I will be baking for a kids halloween party next week and then baking for my son's birthday and then thanksgiving and so on. You know the drill.

    I am exercising but get interupted alot. I just joined a gym here where the have a children's area out on the floor so you can watch them while you workout. I hope that helps.
