Congratulations on starting again whitedove and welcome. It is so great to hear from you BBNM.
I have had a pretty intense week as I started back to work after a year off and had my one year checkup after having surgery for uterine cancer Things went extremely well but I am still just coming back down to earth from the anxiety I was feeling. I am taking the day off from my new job today and just taking care of me I was up 3 pounds this week but oddly enough feel more committed than ever. I think the more I do this the more I learn its really not the weight, it is about how I treat myself
I am still working with not getting discouraged with how much weight I have to lose. I saw someone here at 3FC say (sorry I don't remember who and may not get the quote exactly) something to the effect of " I didn't lose 243 pounds, I lost 1 pound 243 times" I like that!!!!
I thought we might want to set a little goal for our group here. it could be an exercise one or weight loss or ... What do you thing? DCM
Hi activeadventurer yes I love that too " I didn't lose 243 pounds, I lost 1 pound 243 times" I like that!!!!
Very happy to hear all has gone well with your check up
My min goal is to each week stay on track and drink 8 glasses of water a day I also need to walk three times aweek ( I also orded a Billy Blank's DVD)my next min goal with weight is 90 kg (198lb) by 26/10/05 opp's you say 10/26/05
so come on lets all put down our goals
So we have a way of keeping true to ourself

Goals Hmmmm. My plan is eat between 2000-2500 kcals per day, exercise at least 3-4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes and drink 64 oz. of water per day.
BBNM, that seems like a really ambitious weight loss goal. I think I figured it was 19 pounds in less than 6 weeks. Maybe you lose fast or maybe its the conversion thing. I would like to lose 25 pounds by the end of the year (a little less than 2 pounds a week) I find I do better if I focus more on behaviors and less on weight. At the same time I feel I need to be more optimistic about my ability to lose weight and not so negative regarding how slow it can go.
Hi activeadventurer I'm shooting for the stars yep it is about 19 lb , but I can give it my best shot and I will be happy to get near it if not right on ,, as you may have guessted by now I'm a glass is half full
kind of girl ( not half empty)

Whitedove33, Welcome and feel free to PM or keep on posting. I think I must have accidentally dropped my subscirtion and will try to be more timely in the future. Tell us a little bit about yourself and if you have a specific plan you are following for health and weight loss.
Butterballnomore, I am really sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I think that maintaining is a great thing to do while you are sick and not able to exercise. In the old days you might have sat at home and ate lots of ice cream and still not exercised. Sounds like a BIG improvement to me. Give yourself time to recover and LIGHTEN UP a little. You are doing GREAT.
Just finished work (I work 12hrs shifts) and it was a night shift so I'm going to bed I'm soooooooooo hay that realy look's like me
I was very good last night NO CHOCOLATES
I have been good with my food and had my water and I think going to work is all the walking I can do right now
so how have we all been
Congratualtions on no chocolates BBNM. It really sounds like you are doing great and by your little counter, ticker tape thingy or whatever it is you are definitely losing weight. Congrats. Now go get some sleep!!!
I am so excited. My best friend has decided to join me in my weight loss efforts. She is one of the few people who supports me in losing weight through healthy choices. Many people in my environment are encouraging me to have WLS. Some days I think maybe, but generally I am uncomfortable with the idea and just don't think it is right for me.
We both agreed to do a lazyman's triathalon (112 miles of "biking", 26.2 miles of walking and instead of swimming, 2 1/2 hours of weight lifting) in the next 6 weeks and another one before Christmas. Any one else in???
Our goal is for each of us to lose 17 pounds by New Year's.
Haven't seen a lot of our posters around. How are you doing?
I have News for you activeadventurer that sounds like a very not lazyman's triathalon to me . I will have to work out miles into Kilometres ( No I will ask Hubby he will know )
This is getting like being at school , and can I swim and not do weights YUK(I love to swim). I think I need to go back to sleep I have only had three hour sleeep good night all or is it day

Just finished work again and ready for bed ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
as I said I asked hubby to work out miles into Kilometres , he was oh that easy lol
112 miles = 176 Kilometres (sound bad lol )
26 Miles = 40 Kilometres (this is round off )
so it works out Bike= 4 Kilometres a day
Walking only=1/2 Kilometres a day ( I normaly walk around 6 Kilometres every second day) (to my daughters house and back got to get my Nanny huggs in from my Grandson )
I know for lots of people WLS is the way to go, But for me I just could not do it , I feel I got myself fat and I can take the fat off and re-train myself to be healthy in body and mind,so let's stick together on this and we win at being BIG LOSERS
P.s yes I am a control freak

I like the idea of winning at being BIG LOSERS. Who said you were a control freak BBNM? Hope you got some good BBNM
Any way, back to the Lazy Man's Triathalon. One of the reasons I like it is because it sounds a lot better if I schedule in my calendar "Triathalon Training" instead of "exercise" Triathalon training sounds somewhat glamorous where exrcise sounds like work!
Actually the usual LMT is 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of walking and 2.5 miles of swimming in five weeks. So of course you can swim BBNM I am starting Monday and striving to finish by halloween (6 weeks). I usually keep track of the miles/kilometers on a piece of paper but may also do a weekly post here or something like that. Hope others will post too for encouragment. Maybe when we finish we can start calling ourseves triatheletes Ciao, DCM
I have reservations about the bike riding (I will have the BUTT ace of the year as I don’t ride at all) . But I will take a deep breath and try (just thinking about it I'm getting sadel sore )
I will start Monday as well (tomorrow for me )
Sounds like you are feeling better. I am glad for that. You should feel free to substitute more appropriate forms of exercise for ones that don't fit for you. I substitute weightlifting for swimming as it is soon getting to cold to swim outdoors and I am allergic to chlorine. My friend, Nancy, who is also starting Monday, substituted yoga for one of the legs, as she has been told by her doctor that this would be a good form of exercise for her. Figure out what fits for you and post it. Also, you might want to promise yourself a reward for finishing. Nancy and I are going to get a full body massage WHEN we finish. I am glad the three of us are taking this on. Maybe we can call ourselves the Can Do Girls or something positive/silly like that. Anyways, keep us posted on how your doing.
