60 year old needs a pal 60 year old needs a pal[/COLOR]
Good Morning!
I have lost 27 pounds and have about 10 to go.

I live out in the country in Minnesota. We have a small acreage, my hubby just retired and we're learning to raise a few chickens for eggs. Life is Good! But I would like to find pals that have common interest, anyone out there?

Hi Bobbi, I'm almost your age, 57. And when are we ever going to get this weight thing under controle? I'm just sick of it and upset at myself for allowing it to happen. But, the time is now do do something about it! I live n Michigan now but was raised in the south. We didn't really have a farm but had a big garden, raising almost every thign we ate! And of course we had chickens and a cow and pigs! I'd love to do that now but, alas we live in the suburbs and our biggest animal is my baby (a little shih tsu named Benny Dog). Can you guess the grandkids named him? I have 1 son and 2 grandchildren, a boy and a girl. I've been married 40 years also Aug. 31. I'm counting calories and exercising (walking and lifting weights) to loose the weight and am focused primarially on getting healthier. If you want you can e-mail me at [email protected]

I have chickens in the back yard! I feel quite blessed to have an almost nearly perfect food (almost) free right here at home.
Come have a look in the Calorie Counter section, both of you. In fact, cruise all around the forums. You'll find lots of friends.

I can't find my way around, HELPFreda, I tried several times to e-mail you last night but my cp freezes up. I'm waiting for a tech to come out and tune it up. I'll get back to you soon.
SusanB, I found the Calorie Counting group once, but not again. Please give me simple step by steps of finding you.

Ok let me think here ... I love the internet but I'm no whiz ....
from the home page, click on the grey tab that says 'forum' that'll get you the big long list of everything that's here.

scroll down and the third block of titles is called 'Diet Central'

the first one is "General Diet Plans"

and in it's sub-forums is "Calories Counters" click on it

'Doin' it the Old Fashioned Way' is the chitty chatty thread. But the others are all good too.
