So, how are Y'all doing? Managing to stay with that diet? I'm doing ok. Yeah, just ok. I did well yesterday and this morning I ate one of my husband's donuts for breakfast! I don't even like donuts! How lame is that? But, I will do better the rest of the day! Hope you do too. Freda

Hey Freda I'm doin pretty well so far. We were all 3 tempted last nite at Sams when the kids (my 3) had cherry icees but we were all able to resist. Oh they looked so yummy. Especially since it was 100 out here yesterday.

MMmmmm donuts, sounds very yummy too. My DH had Krispy Kremes at work on Monday and he told me about them. I wanted to kick him for tellin' me the sweet details. Meanie :).

Lunch will be a true test for me today as I am oin up to have lunch with DH and the boys ( 2.5 and 5 months old). I'm hopin he will eat at quiznos since they have salads. I'm also hopin for some unsweet tea with lots of ice -- splenda is already in my purse.

Hope you have an awesome day too!!

Sara

I always carry splenda in my purse too! I jsut do't like those pink and blue packets! they both have an after taste to me.

Tell your husband "shame on him" for giving you the gory details!!!!

Sweet tea and KK donuts..this looks like the thread for me! Maybe we should start a southern's support group :) After all, we live where some restuarants fry every vegetable on the menu... we have special needs!

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Beth

Hey ladies!
Southern support group? Special needs? Sounds good to me!

Well, I have succeeded in doing well my first 5 days of Phase 1 on the SBD! I couldn't have done it without my sisters and this forum! Here's the breakdown...

There are hershey nuggests in the office at ALL times. Did I have any this week? Survey says...NO! None! ZILCH! YAY!

On Wednesday - someone at work had the gall to bring in doughnuts AND mini muffins! How rude!! Did I have any? Survey says...NO! None! ZILCH! YAY!

Happy weekend fellow lifestyle changers! Keep up the good work!

Looks like we've all faced some temptations this week and WON! It's one week at a time, one day at a time! Breaking old habits is hard to do but it can be done. They say it takes 30 days to form a new habit! We can do that!!! We are SOUTHERN! We can do anything!!!

No, I'm Sweet Tea 08-20-2005 11:32 AM

LMAO @ slim me!!

Yeah, we can totally do it! 30 days to form a new habit? Well then, we only have 3 weeks to go and that's nuttin ladies!

Ok -- that peanut butter cup recipe. It is from the South Beach forum. There are some pretty awesome recipes there but THIS ONE sounds like the bomb and it's phase one friendly.

2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (peanuts and salt only)
2 tablespoons of Cool Whip Free 1 sugar free fudge pop

Put the pop in the microwave for 10 secs so it is easily removed from the stick. Mix with other ingredients and ENJOY! 1 serving.

Remember the PB counts towards the 2 tbs per day that you are allowed to have. SB phase 1

Big thanks to Ruthxxx for this!

Chocolate Meringue Kisses
From the 5/16 Daily Dish: Don't be afraid to use a pastry-bag — once you get the hang of it, it's really easy. These cookies will keep for a week, tightly covered. Wait to sandwich the cookies together until just before serving.

Ingredients
2 egg whites, at room temperature
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar substitute
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, lumps removed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Light whipped topping (1 tablespoon per sandwich)

Instructions
Tip: Make sure your bowl is completely dry and clean of grease or the whites will not whip up enough.

Preheat oven to 250°F. Place egg whites and cream of tartar in a clean bowl or electric mixer fitted with whisk attachment. Whisk at highest spped until whites form soft peaks that hold their shape when you lift the whisk. Add the sugar substitute, 1 tablespoon at a time; whisk until whites turn glossy and form stiff peaks that hold their shape. Do not underbeat. Whisk in cocoa and vanilla until blended.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fit a large star nozzle into a pastry bag. Fill pastry bag with meringue. Pipe 20 meringue kisses onto prepared sheets. Bake 30 minutes, until crisp and dry. Turn oven off, let cookies cool in oven for 30 minutes. Remove from baking sheet. Sandwich pairs of cooled cookies together with whipped topping.

Makes 10 cookies.

This one sounds great and is very low calorie as well !! I think I want to try this one this week.

Hope ya'll had good weekends! Mine could have been a whole lot better but I did stay on plan with only one slip. I had an emotional weekend with issues with my DH (all related to my weight) so by the time I went to walmart last night I was craving chocolate like a madwoman. I ended up getting some dark choc peanut m&ms and I at about 10 and then threw the rest of the bag away. I hate being an emotional eater... I am back on track today though and saw that I was down 2 more lbs.
