Default Hello Ladies,

I struggled with my food today (made bad choices). I how ever did mow the back and front yards. When I was done with that I jumped in the pool and swam for 40 minutes. When I got out of the pool I pulled some weeds while I dried off. I did drink lots of water today.
I started a new medication for my IBS and anxiety, they make me tired. (I hope once I get use to the meds that the tiredness will go away). I have to be careful not to over heat on these meds too.
It is that time of the month for me and I just feel jucky. Good thing DH is out of town. My twin has not had a period in over 2 years, we will be 50 on Sept 6. I wish I was done with them.
I hope every did well following what ever your plan is.

I did alright today. Food-OK, could have done better; walked 50 minutes. It sounds like we are all getting our exercising in!
I work at an elementary school, so I went in to fix up my room a little. I'm on the third floor. I took my DD and my DDog with me. My DD said that I would get my exercise on the stairs. I'm excited but a little blue about school starting. I really like my job, but I'm happy being just a home-body too, as you all know there is always something to do. I guess when we start officially on Monday, I will have to get out of this funk. Maybe it is just this inbetween of waiting for the students to start that gets me.
My son is in Korea in the Army at present. He was in Iraq over a year ago, for about a year. He came back safe, but I know there were some bad times over there. He is considering re-enlisting. His 5 years will be up next Spring.

Good morning every one, How was your weekend? I hope you made good choices are are feeling good about yourself right now! I did ok, got a lot of exercise, drank a lot of water. I didn't do great with the eating, but i didn't do too bad. Still working on that. Every day that you stay on your diet gives you new confidence that you can do it! And think about how healthier you are becoming! We're getting to the age that health is going to become a major concern. Most problems begin to show up in the 50's and really manifest when you reach 60. So now is the time to now only look better but get the health issues under controle also.

One day at a time, Freda

Default Good weekend

Good Monday morning all.
I think I did really good this weekend. I was pleased with my food choices and the amount of water I drank. Could have done better with the getting myself moving part of the weekend. No real effort to exercise but I did shampoo the carpets and tried to get some yardwork done in between the rain. DH is out of town so I really enjoyed not having to do anything for him.
None if his snoring to wake me, no disturbing his sleep when I want to clean up the room. No one underfoot.

Thumbs up Good Weekend

Hi All !

I had a pretty good weekend eating wise and otherwise. Got my youngest daughter off to college, that was both a happy and sad day. I'm going to miss her around the house, but she's only an hour away. Food wise, I think I did pretty good. We went out Friday night to eat after getting her settled in the dorm and I chose Baked Fish, Green Beans, Asparagus and a salad for my meal. Saturday night was a different story... my husband and son took me to my favorite Chinese Restaurant and I had all of my favorites from the buffet. It was so good, but surprisingly, I didn't eat near as much as I usually do after a week of smaller portions and better choices. Still no sweets though. Then Sunday was weigh in time. I've lost SEVEN pounds ! I was so happy ! I know most of it was water weight but it is still very encouraging.

Everyone keep your spirits up and keep up the good work. Thanks for letting me post, it really helps to have somewhere to put down your thoughts.

Shell, my major weight gain began last summer when my youngest son joined the Marine Corps. The house seemed so empty and I guess I ate to fill the void, because I packed on about 25 pounds! I really give you credit for sticking with your eating plan...you are doing great!

jmacway, shampooing carpets has to count for something...that's a tough job! Enjoy your quiet time while your hubby is gone!

Freda, thanks for the encouraging words! You are so right, we need to do this for us and our health!

I weighed in yesterday and even though I only lost 1 pound last week it was exciting for me...I am finally into the 150's!

Sounds like we are off to a pretty good start this week!

I weighed in this morning, 1 pound less than last week! It's only a weekly ritual now. I used to get on the scale daily, but that was not working. Gain or loss, just about everyday, and I would be so upset with myself the whole day whenever there was a gain. I have set a goal for me to lose about 7 pounds more by the end of September. Sounds doable! I would like to lose at least 20 lbs., but need to have smaller goals to get there. Anyone else have any mini-goals?
Went into school today. I have got to move all of the computers because of possible fire hazards. Everyone does. I realize that it is a safety issue, but I just started this job one year ago, and they were arranged like that for over 10 years. The problem is our building is so old there are not enough outlets. So I guess I will be doing some heavy lifting this week. I still don't know where everything will go. Oh, and the students start Wednesday! I shouldn't be surprised, it seems like every year there is some kind of dilema; yet we always survive!

Default great Monday, good start to Tuesday

Hi everyone, I had a great Monday. Followed my plan for the day. Tuesday started off with the battle of a Sonic breakfast vs what I have at home to eat. I ended up having oatmeal and cinnamon toast. I am going to do some sewing today and start packing for my 3 week birthday trip.
Hope things are going well for the rest of you.

Terrific Tuesday to you all!
Did well with the food today. I actually could not finish my dinner. Me? From the clean plate club! Leave food on my plate?
I did pack it up for leftovers though; "waste not, want not."
I got my library all organized today! Feels good. I was figuring that I would waste a day moving furniture/computers around, but when I went into school, the custodians and maintenance guy had already fixed the computer lab. I only had to change around my personal computer and desk, but actually DH did it. How sweet! I would have been hesitant to unhook cords and plugs, plus move my desk and a few shelves, probably would have taken me half the day; so with his help, it took a little more than an hour. What a guy!
I'm glad you're doing good Joyce! The more we stay on track, the more power it gives us to continue and succeed!
I hope everyone else is doing well too.

Hi SuzyMc,

The house does seem empty, but my son is still at home. He'll be 17 next month and is a Senior in High School. I've been doing good this week, eating healthy, but can't seem to get motivated on daily exercise. I walked a mile on my treadmill on Monday, but didn't get on it yesterday. Work has been really busy this week and I'm just pooped when I get home. The "Spa" I joined last week has really been a disappointment, its closed every afternoon when I get off work even though their hours state differently. My husband told me I need to get my money back, and I would if I could ever find them open. Maybe at lunch one day....

Everyone keep up the good work !

Default Wonderfull Wednesday

I walked 2.75 miles through the neighborhood this morning, and swam for 40 minutes this afternoon. I got of the scales this monring, like I do every Wednesday and was pleased with the numbers I saw. I made good food choices today as well.
Had to go to the airport mid-day when the heat index was 103. Boy was it warm in my car, I have no AC.
I hope you are pleased with your choices today

Half way through another week and so far so good!

I really do need to exercise more though...it would be so much easier and a lot more fun if I had someone willing to drag me out the door and walk with me every day. Oh well, I guess I just need to get off my bum and self motivate!

Shell, I'd be asking for my money back too! What good is a gym if they are never open when you go to work out? You might be better off to put that money towards a treadmill or other piece of equipment.

Wow Joyce! I wonder how many pounds you lost by sweating in your car today? Make sure you drink some extra water...that kind of heat is brutal!

JLoubug, how nice that your hubby was willing to help you today! It must be a good feeling knowing that you're all done and ready in half the time!

Keep up the good work everyone!

Good morning everyone. It's another cool day here and I can't wait to get outside and do the things that I haven't wanted to do in the heat....Like take a walk and work in the yard. I've been doing ok with the diet and exercise, but could do better. I'm having a hard time starting here!!!

Suzymac, It is important to exercise and much easier to lose weight too. But, it's boring. I try to solve it a little bit by using book tapes. It's always nicer to walk with some one else, but you can't let that that dictate your walking. They quit and you can't! So, it's up to each of us to motivate ourseoves.

Shell, I don't blame you for wanting your money back. And you shouldn't have any problem getting it if they gave you false information about the hours.

Joyce (I have a sister named Joyce) I am giving you a big hand, girlfriend! You are doing so good with the exercise!

Jen, That stomach must be shrinking! They give you way to much in restaurants anyway. I always ask for a doggie bag and portion out what I want to eat BEFORE I start. That way i'm not tempted!

I know there a few dog lovers in here so I'm going to tell yoy what happened to ny Nieces dog. She took him to get groomed and 2 days later he came down with an eye infection. It was the weekend and she couldn't get to the vet for 2 more days. When she did take him in the vet told her that some one had stuck him in the eye with something sharp, like grooming sissors. He will probally have to have surgery and may still loose the eye. My niece is reluctant to say anything to the groomer. I would be furious! If the groomer had told her right away she could have taken him right to the vet and maybe saved his sight!

The weather is cool and wonderful this morning so I'm off the take my walk! Hope you all have a good day! Freda

Oh that poor pup! I hope the infection can be cleared up and that he won't need surgery! If I were your niece I would certainly be talking with the groomer and then sending her the vet bills!

I know I just have to make up my mind that I AM going to exercise at least 30 minutes every day no matter what. The weather is beautiful here today too, so I guess it's a good day to start....

Have a good day everyone!

DH and I walked our usual walk of 2.75 miles through the neighborhood this morning as the sun was coming up.
Middle child called and said lunch, with green salad and garlic bread. Tonight we will have a light dinner.
I have fought the munchies all afternoon, I gave in but did not go over board.
To make up for the extra munchies I was in the pool for just about an hour.
I am working tomorrw at a near by middle school (I am a substitute teacher), so I will pack a healthy lunch.
Hope you made healthy choices today

the slim me Sorry to hear about the puppy. Some one should talk to the groomer, I think they should pay the vet bill.

Suzymac Sometimes I walk with my radio and earphones to keep me company, sometimes it's the best time of my day to have a talk with my maker.
