Hi, Just found this site and had to join up. Trying hard to lose weight while working 14 hour nights. Some days it is just hard to keep on track. Any advice on packing a good lunch for night shift would be appreciated! Space is minimal so lunch has to be small but filling.

Boy do I hear you! I work about 70 hours a week between 2 jobs, so I sure know what it is to have to pack your food. I actually have to pack both lunch and dinner, and sometimes even breakfast. If you have a fridge at your disposal, try a ham and/or turkey sandwich, egg salad, a salad with chicken and/or hard-boiled egg...if you have a microwave, try reheating a turkey burger, some stir-fry (veggies, chicken, and brown rice), some whole wheat pasta with meat sauce...anything's game! I actually do all of my cooking on Sunday and then just put it all into Gladware containers in the fridge for the week and grab them each day as I need them (like I have time to cook every day!). Of course, try to get a good amount of protein in your meal (notice all of my suggestions have meat and/or egg) because that will help to keep you feel fuller longer. I don't know what kind of diet you are on (Atkin's, counting calories, WW, SB...), but I hope some of these help. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that I am newly diagnosed as diabetic. This has really put a kink in things for me as I have to do the food exchange to keep my sugar controlled. I can only eat 1/2 sandwich per meal because of starch restrictions.(1/2 = 1 slice bread ). I've been given a lot of info but they all tell me to eat at the same time every day and to space my meals out evenly. I guess I'm still trying to make sense of all this.
I feel for you having to work 2 jobs. It seems to get harder every day to make ends meet.
