Slim in 6, Anyone?
I'm back to this site after a long while away. I've reached my heaviest and I want to get into shape. I don't like what I see in the mirror and it's up to me to do something about it. I've been reviewing my eating and exercise plans and I am getting motivated to start. I think the "Slim in 6" program from Beach Body is what I want to do for exercise.
Anyone else doing Slim in 6 or wanting to start it soon? I'm thinking of starting this Monday, July 18th. A little about me...I'm a 41 year old SAHM of a 7 year old and a VERY BUSY 20 month old. Either reply here or send me a private message. Hopefully we can hook up and cheer each other on. |

WOW! You know what? I've been doing the Slim in 6 off and on since I bought it, actually I had so stop when I had my son 11 mo ago. So far every other day (this week) I have been doing the 11 min. Ab's workouts along with the 23 min. workout. I was thinking about doing it more consistantly starting on Monday. You know what Count me in. |
What is Slim in 6? I thought I knew all the diets out there...

Let's Do It!
RAKKOON--Ok, let's get geared up to do this! I'm gonna try to watch my eating this weekend and drink lots of water. Gonna be a bit tough since we're going to a pool party/pot luck tomorrow. Gotta start somewhere! I'm gonna have to figure out when to do my workout--my daughter seems to be weening to one nap a day and it's not for very long and sometimes she's up at 6 am. But NO excuses this time! I want to finish the 6 weeks!
CARLA--Slim in 6 is not a diet. It's an exercise program put out by Beach Body. You can get more info from their site (beachbody.com). My DH was doing their Power 90 program and was getting great results until he had to stop cause he hurt his back at work. Bye for now, |

Here We Go.....
A few hours till Monday! I had wanted to preview the workout tonight, but we just go home and I'm beat. Guess I'll just wing it tomorrow morning. I hope we tuckered out our little girl so that she'll sleep in so I can do the workout early. :^:
So, c'mon ladies! We can do this. Just 6 weeks, just 36 workouts (that doesn't sound so bad!). And remember, just because we don't eat "perfectly" or miss a workout does NOT mean we've failed and have to start over. We just have to keep going, keep pushing play and try to do better. and if we happen to have a few too many slip ups, we can just add a week (can you tell I've read the literature that came with the program :lol: ) So let's go move our butts! |
Which work out are we doing the 40+minute one or the 20 minute workout. I will try the 40+ tomarrow for just in case. Let me know. Oh Susanne, did you get those vitamins it came with? I threw mine away a long time ago. I told the girl I didn't want them but she sent them anyway.
I'm hoping my son will take a nap in the morning so I can work out. He tends to wake up early. |

Yes I done it I learned how to take the old ones off and update to a new one I am so proud of myself.Ok have a question for those of you doing the slim in 6 have you seen results and if so how fast and is it worth paying the money for it to do it.I am a beginer at exercise so tell me if this is something a beginer can od.

WOW! I just did the 47 minute workout. I'm tire but feeling good b/c I did it. Let me know where you all want to start, 20 min. or 47 min.
Tina, I like this work out set b/c it comes with everything you need. workout resistant bands and 3-4 workout in one dvd. I think its great. *hey, you guys does your set come with a work out called "Burn it up?" I don'ty know if I have it. |

I'm starting with the 24 minute one to get warmed up.. I havn't excercised in a while! ;) But whatever you guys wanna do, I'll try the 47 one next week. I wish I had the resistant bands etc.. its actually my brothers DVD and he bought it off ebay, guess he didn't get the other stuff. Going to see if I have the burn it off one :) :) |
You know what if you haven't worked out in a while, just stay where you are. Doning the 24 minute workout, I don't want you to over work yourself. In other words i don't want you to get discouraged. I think from what the set says is if you haven't worked out in a while to start with the 24 minute until you've mastered it. Your doing great!

Well, my little one did not sleep in this morning. WAYTO GO those of you who are finished! One day down, 35 more to go. I'll be starting with the first one (I guess the 20 minute one). I haven't done it in so long, I think I'd better start at the beginning. RAKKOON, since you were already used to doing the longer one, maybe you should keep it up. We'll all be doing that one in a few days anyway and will be caught up with you. I'd like to workout now (baby's sleeping), but we're trying to sell our house and we're having someone come thru soon. I'll have to wait till this evening when DH is home to watch the baby. I'll have to check all the workouts I have. I just got 2 DVDs in one case. I don't think they ship the vitamins over the boarder (I could be wrong), but I didn't try to order them anyway. I didn't get resistance bands either, but I already had one at home. You can use free weights too. Bands and weights are at Walmart. TINAMARIE--I like the 3 BeachBody programs we own. I find the movements easy to follow (unlike others I owned where my feet got tangled). I had started with Power 90 but some of the leg work hurt my hip joints so I stopped. DH was showing great results until he had to stop because he hurt his back. I can follow Slim in 6, but I stopped after a couple of weeks (Christmas time). Our son has just started using "Tony and the kids" and he likes it and can follow it. Well, baby's awake now. Gotta go. |
You know what I will do the 21 min. along with you all. I thought it was too much anyways. Anyways they say to start with the 21 minute workout for the first week. The last thing I want to do is get discouraged and blow it.

UG! today it was so much harder, I had trouble with all the arm parts... and i was sore this morning (I'm also doing my stepper) and we had a bad night (3yr old woke up at 3:30am with a fever and throwing up! :( ) but I MADE IT THROUGH! :) :) :)

Well I got my workout in at 8 last night. My knees and hips are complaining today. Baby still hasn't had a nap so I may get in today's workout this afternoon, or wait again till about 8 tonight. Rainbow--Hope your little one is feeling better! |

I just finished today's workout!
I so like getting it out of the way as early as possible. Then I don't have it hanging over my head--plus I feel better too! Has anyone taken their measurements? I have forgotten till now. What about eating? Anyone following anything in particular? |
I did a while ago.
My last diet I was on was Dr. Phil. I gave up but I still continued his plan (sort of). I eat, Breakfast: Fiber cereal with 2% milk (was already drinking this milk) and 2 eggs w/ coffee Lunch: something small adding veggies. Dinner: Any meat w/ veggies (I make sure I load up on veggies) I try to eat any carbs or treats before the afternoon b/c supposedly you burn more cal. during the day. My snack: is yogart w/ grapenuts Some of the ideas I got were from Sylvester Stallone's new book, I really think it is a good book. He totally bashes diets. |

Ok I did the 47 min. on monday. Tuesday I dropped down to the 24 min. Today I did the 24min. again. from what the program says I should start doing the 47 min. tomarrow. We'll see how that goes this morning my son started crying half way through the workout. How are you doing out there? You can do it!! |

I did the 24 minute and I'm TIRED!! Was up again last night with my boy, but he said he is feeling better today.. poor little guy... :( Anyway... I'm SO UNFIT! :( :( But I'm getting there I also have a few other rules: 1. only drinking water 2. no sweets at all 3. no eating after 7:30pm 4. remembering to eat fresh veggies and fruit 5. 250 steps per day on my stepper (this has been harder then I thought, I think I over did it for the first day... I will work up to this) Also took 'before' photos the other night and i need to do measurements today. |
Sounds like you are doing great. I hear you, doing the 47 min. workout the first day just about killed be. To be honest I was happy my son started crying that he wanted me, he started crying when I was already at 40 minutes into it, almost done.
I read somewhere that if you can make it for 21 days exercise becomes a habit, What do you think about that? I think I will always hate it. |
Now..Ramp it up
Ok, I did the Start it up work out last night and I think I'm ok with it--no aches or pains for 2 days now. So now I'll start Ramp it up. YIKES! double the time!
I still haven't taken my measurements. I'm trying to be good with my eating: cut down on sugar and white starchy carbs. Lots of fruit, veggies and water. I've heard the 21 days to form a habit thing too, but it's still gonna be a chore for me to exercise! Better go release the baby from her crib! |
Well I finally got done with todays workout. Now to hit the shower. Boy I'm sweating like a dog (what ever that means, I've never seen a dog sweat. lol).
Are you all getting used to it? In a way I was used to the 24 min. workout this one was tough. |
What Happened?
We were all posting and then we kind of dropped off.
Well, I will admit that I haven't done a workout since Thursday. We are selling our house and have had people coming thru during what seemed to be my free time. I'm not going to be discouraged tho, cause I need to get fit. I'm going to pick up where I left off. My eating has been pretty good. I am putting a sticker on the calendar for every day I workout. I have 4 stickers from last week, maybe I can have more this week. I may have to tack on an extra week at the end of the program, but I'm gonna keep going! So if it's because you haven't worked out that you're not writing, don't worry. Just pick up and keep going! We can do this! |
I admit I slacked Saturday and Sunday didn't do any workouts. I'm coming back strong today... I think I've lost 2 1/2 pounds! but am gonna wait till I'm finished this to see for sure.
I started Ramp it up and man it was HARD!!! off to take a shower! |
