Default Got room for one more fat chick?

Hello all,

My name is Sherry. I found this website by accident and spent an hour reading through posts. Wow, what a support group you have going on here! Got room for one more?

I am 34 and have been married to my hubby, Roy, for 13 years. We have two beautiful children, Travis (10) and Jenna (3). I have been struggling with my weight since the birth of my son and I am now the heaviest I have ever been(233.2 lbs). I am tired of blaming everything on my thyroid. This excuse doesn't last forever. I am ready to take charge of my life - I want to shed some of these pounds and begin a modest exercise program at Curves. I would love to have some of that wonderful support you all are spreading. My hubby says he loves me the way that I am and doesn't provide the support and encouragement that I really need. I think alot of it is fear on his part. He's often told me that I'm beautiful and if I lose weight, I will be a godess and will leave him for someone else. My intentions for losing weight are not so I can leave my husband. I intend on losing weight so that I may look in the mirror and actually like myself. I would like to feel good about the way I look. I would like to buy clothes that actually suit me instead of buying something to hide my true size. I would like to feel like a sexy woman again and not be ashamed of getting undressed in front of my husband. I swear, he hasn't seen my breasts in five years!!

So, if you all are willing, scoot over on the bench....waaaayyyy over....and make room for one more fat chick!

I look forward to making some new friends!

Sherry

Welcome Sherry,
There's always room for one more as we're always making more space on the bench with all the weight everyone's losing. I found this site by accident too, and have since become addicted to it as well. It is amazing to find so many other women going through the same thing who are sharing the same triumphs and struggles, women who understand what a big deal it is to be able to fit into a regular sized towel again. I hope we can all be a source of help and support to you on your journey to less fat. BTW, love your avatar.

Thank you to all for the warm welcome. Today is the very first day of my diet/exercise program and I'm actually excited to start this time around. I feel ready!

Just found this site today and have been reading through all the posts. My fiance' has also failed to give me the support I need with comments like,"You're beautiful just the way you are; I think your sexy; etc." He just doesn't understand that sometimes support means giving a little push now and then. I just started my diet/exercise program three days ago and I am feeling great! I felt like I needed someone to talk to that understands what I am going through, and now I have found this site. At 197lbs I have a ways to go, but I think I am finally up for the challenge. Whose with me?
