Default Where's My Buddy With 100+ lbs to lose?

I'm a 34 year old Canadian Lady who is definitely not new to the Weight loss world. I've lost over 50 lbs once, 75 lbs another time and I'm back to square one trying to lose 130 lbs now. My problem is that typically once I get to being close to 200 lbs, I struggle, plateau and then ultimately give up. This has happened twice now and I'm wishing that I could just turn back time.

I ordered Bob Greene's new book and thought I'd give it a try. I don't really need to learn about weight loss. I am an expert having done WW, TOPS, Xenical, joined a gym, the Scarsdale Diet, South Beach, Atkins..you name it. I've read many books on nutrition and have impressed nutritionists with what I know. The problem is putting it into action of course! I know how to lose weight, but doing it is all together different than knowing how to! But I thought if I bought his book then at least, I would have a regimine to get me started and I certainly need some discipline. Once the book arrives, I am going to devour it (well not literally ) and get going on my plan of attack.

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who wants to be my support buddy. In all honesty, I can't email anyone every day. I'm a teacher and life just gets too hectic during certain periods (like report card time). But I'm looking for a buddy to email, get to know, share support and maybe to touch base with 1-2 time a week.

If you are interested please send me a note on here!

Default Howdy!!

I am a complete newbie to this board but I also have 100+ to loose and would love to share support.

I am a new mom and feel that I should set a good example for my son and take control of my life.

I haven't formulated a plan yet but will be doing so soon. I have done a lot of research also. Have been to WW but didn't like it (a friend of mine went with me as a "buddy" but it ended up being more like a competition).

I am quite active now. I bike everywhere and walk a lot.

Cheers!

I would love to be a support buddy. I actually lurk more on the board and would rather get to know someone on a more personal level via email. I am ultimately looking to lose 80 pounds. I am young and active in many ways, yet my weight is starting to become an issue that I need to address once and for all.

If anyone is interested in becoming a buddy, please pm me.

Red face Another new girl...

I am also new and am looking to lose 110+ over the course of the next few years and would love to have a support system of other people who are going through the same things I am. I just called the doctor to set up an appointment to get my thyroid checked (my other has problems with hers so I want to make sure I'm okay).

Welcome. When you think about 100lbs it seems like an impossible dream. Break it down into smaller amounts, like 10% of what you weight now and then go from there. Or 25lbs..you just have to do it 4 times. LOL You can do this, WE CAN DO this.

Moonray is right PIC (partners in crime) is a great little support group. You don't have to post everyday or if you want to post more that is fine. We are listed under support groups.

I am 38 y.o. and live in Wyoming. I have 108lbs to lose. I am going to do it this time!!

Default Newbie With Lots to Lose

I am also new to this website, and also have 100+ to lose. I too have lost and gained my current weight numerous times over. I am not getting any younger and am determined to get it off and keep it off this time. I would love to have a more personal interaction buddy "for the long run." I have recently went back to Weight Watchers and actually have been successful to start off. I would truly enjoy the extra support and encouragement a buddy that has actually "been there done that" could provide. Please keep me in the loop. Thanks!

Graceful Loser,

We have a lot in common! I too have lost weight several times - large amounts - only to gain it back. I joined WeightWatchers last Saturday, for the 4th time, and vow that this time I'm going to do it - and keep it off. I'm looking at 85 lbs to go at this point.

I'm also a teacher (1st grade) so I know exactly what you mean about the hectic, stressful times that brings. I would like to buddy up with someone who wants to stay in contact once or twice a week, through e-mail or forum threads, just to keep me on track!

Being a Georgia Southern Gal, I have lots of food issues. We eat way too well here! And most of it is not healthy (we even fry vegetables...). I struggle but I know that for my health I've got to get it under control. I lead a very hectic life - I have two extremely active teenage boys - and have trouble fitting exercise in (of course, that is easier in the summer, being a teacher!).

Let me know if you are interested in buddying up!

I also need to lose well over 100 lbs. 160lb loss is my goal. I am 35 born and raised in a food city (New Orleans). I am using a healthy living/change of lifestyle mode to lose weight instead of a particular diet. I could really use a buddy for mutual support. Anyone interested can send me a message by PM.

Thanks, AngieB
