Cool Need a buddy desperately!!!!!

HELLO!! My name is Susan and I'm a carb addict!!!! I'm married with two beautiful daughters, ages 11 and 3. Currently I teach fifth grade at a private school and therefore have the summer off. My goal is to be a dress size smaller before school starts back. I've tried the Atkin's diet, lost the weight and then gained all of it back plus some in about a year's time. I am currently on Slim-fast and so far so good. I've been on it for a couple of weeks and lost three pounds. I guess that's not bad but I sure would like it to be alot faster. I've also joined a gym and I'm going regularly. This would include a water aerobics class that I like very much. I stay pretty much motivated especially when my clothes are so tight that I can't breathe!! However, when I fix my family meals, snacks, etc. I get tempted and then lose all control!?!?!?!? Anyway, I would love to find a buddy that could help me lose the weight. I would like someone who would be open and honest with something in common. Thanks for the ear and I look forward to hearing from.......................

I forgot to add................

I am 35, weight 187, size 16-18 and my would like to lose about 35 pounds &/or drop two dress sizes. The lowest I've been is a size 12 and the hightest is a 20. If I could fit into my 13/14 comfortably while breathing I would be so happy!! :-)

HI, Good luck to you, and yes, you can do it! You can easily be a couple of sizes smaller by the time school starts again. It's not easy to change your eating habits, but it's so worth it! You will feel so much better (to keep up with those kids) and you'll look great too.

The first thing, though, is to change the way you think about this. NO DIET! Life style change. A diet is something you do for awhile and stop! I know, I've done it a thousand times. I have a closet full of every size clothes. I am at almost my goal weight right now. It's taken me all winter but i'm within 5 pounds. I know the last 5 will take awhile to come off, and then I have to work on keeping it off too! So, I would be happy to have a buddy to work with! I know we can help each other reach, and keep, our goals.

I'm an RN and I have a brother and a sister who teach school.

Default Carb Adicts Unite!

Susan, I too am a Carb junkie. I absolutely love breads, pastas, potatoes and anything Carb loaded. I tried the Atkins Diet for a while and thought I was going to DIE! I have to have my Carbs to survive.

I've been on Weight Watchers for about 10 weeks now and have lost 8.2 lbs. Not a lot but I'm really not working out like I should. I have noticed that I am beginning to see changes in the shape of my body and my clothes are fitting looser. I truly welcome this change.

As for me, I am 40 years old, 3 kids (22, 18 and 13) and tend to always put myself last in the line when things need to be done. I'm trying really hard to change this. I found this site and have been chiming in and pulling recipes ever since.

Best of luck on your lifestyle change. Stay strong and focues and you will accomplish your goal.
