Just wanted to introduce myself here. My husband and I are grandparents, mostly retired, and have packed on the pounds in the last couple of years.
We want to lose about 20 pounds each at least. We had tried the South Beach Diet a couple years ago and lost quite a few pounds, but we couldn't keep that up for the rest of our lives. After we quit, we have continued to gain weight up to this point. We just started a diet yesterday and I won't weigh myself for at least a week. Are there any other retired persons out there? Trudy ;)

I'm not retired, but I did want to say congrats on being able to diet with your husband. I did South Beach with my husband a couple of years ago. He was wildly successful, I was moderately successful. :) Having him on the plan with me really helped me, even though my pounds didn't budge quite like his.

Hi trudy! I'm far from being retired myself, but I'll say "welcome to the forums" no matter what ;)

just to say hello

hi,
saw your post. I guess you could say I am retired. I am disabled due to a work related injury, arm problem. Anyway I a 47 from upstate ny area, i am trying to lose 10 to 15 lb, because of my injury i have a hard time with doing exercise, I just seem to be in a rut. I have lost 4lb and this week when I weighed in I gained to back, I hope it is water weight that time of the month, so I am back to where I started. Hoping for better weather to get outside and do some walking.
good luck
sue
