Default New, email friend told me about here

Hi Everyone!
I am a 38 y/o Army Wife and mother to 4. I've been overweight since after my first was born 17 years ago. I've just recently signed up for WW Online as I can not go to weekly WW meetings because I am currently living in Germany. I want to lose a minimum of 100 lbs and have already lost 12 in two weeks, two days. I am supposed to weigh between 135-162 and I am over 100 above 162.

I need all the support I can get. I am new in my area and have no friends or family here. While my husband isn't complaining about my weight, he doesn't exactly get supportive of my trying to lose weight.

Hey girl...

Our situation sounds a bit similar. I am thinking of doing WW online as well. I live in the Middle East because my husband works on the Army base(hes civilian though). I don't know anyone here really and sort of stay to myself. Support is hard to get here.
Do you have an exercise plan yet? Or are you working on your diet first? Have you already signed up for WW? I am waiting until Friday to sign up.
How do you like Germany? Let us know how things are going with you! If you need any support, we're all here for you. This site is amazing. I've gotten so much support by just knowing that people are going through the same thing.

Love,
Deanne

HI Des,

You've come to a good forum for support and info. I follow the South Beach Diet and have had good results.

I live in Germany, too (Wuerzburg, Bavaria). Let me know if you have any questions.
Best wishes.

Germany as a whole is a beautiful place so far. Not much sun during winter where I am but I am happy to be here and look forward to all the possibilities of seeing places and things I've never seen before, as well as walking where my ancestors once lived. (I'm into genealogy.)

The military post where i live leaves a lot to be desired. I'll leave that at that so I don't get in trouble for speaking my mind.

I joined WW on 01 March and am on my 3rd week. My frustrations primarily are in lack of physical meetings to attend and a bum scale (of which I have a new one coming in mail). I don't have anyone (besides those I find online) that understands what I want to do and/or to give me occasional support when I need it. It stinks! I've lost 12 lbs (I think, remember bum scale) and possibly 1-2 on top of that since my last weigh in on Monday. I dunno, the scale fluctuates 3-5 lbs each time I get on it. Ya know, I get on it, it says one thing, get off, step back on to make sure and it's another reading. That doesn't help.

I'm so frustrated with a big part of this military post right now that I am just plain angry and upset. I can't really talk about it to anyone except hubby. I sure wish I could. I need to somehow find a release for the feelings I'm feeling right now.

I am just praying and hoping that somehow I can make it thru these problems without turning back to food. That's how I got myself to this weight in the first place....food....addicted to food....eat when i'm bored, upset, unhappy, etc etc.

Thanx for the messages...I will definitely come back more often as I can.

And most of all....thanx for being here.

Hi Des I have a lot to lose as well. The 100lb club is very friendly and welcoming. I moved from Australia to England to be with my hubby, that was three years ago. We met t'internet (love your avatar veggie). I comfort eat as well, I get homesick and really lonely and still haven't made any really close friends, and sometimes you need someone outside your "partnership" to talk to about stuff.

Welcome aboard, you'll get lots of support here, and you can pm me any time.
