Exclamation Ladies, Please help!

Hey ladies... I need help! I am 5-9 and 280 lbs... yes... but the weight is decieving as I am a size 20, which still isnt good. I have lots of muscle, which is what makes the scale so decieving. I was an avid softball and volleyball player but after my dad's death at 17 and a few other terrible experiences, I just lost my will to care about how I looked and hit a terrible period of my life. I am also 22 years old and want my life back! I am despirate to get this weight off and feel like a "normal" person. I would die to shop anywhere, get noticed, get my self esteem back and I want to just feel good about being me. I am in a new place, I moved to North Carolina about 2 years ago and am so self conscious about myself in a new place that I havent made many friends. I would love advice on how to STICK with exercise and a healthy lifestyle for more than a week and a buddy is willing to help me, as I am willing to help them. Please, please help me!! Kim

Red face Thanks again ladies

I would love to be your buddies! I am re-dedicated to getting back to the old me. I did deal with my issues and I am ready to start a fresh chapter in my life. I think that when I see the scale drop 5 lbs I feel great and it stops there because I get over confident. I can plan out these grand schemes in my head of what I will do but then I just loose motivation. Hence why I would love a buddy so we can keep each other motivated!! Let me know somethings about yourselves or if you prefer to e-mail, let me know! Hope to hear from you soon! Kim

Hi Kimmy! Welcome! Like tameme, I can offer my advice and suggestions to what has worked for me so far, just remember that this is going to be a process, and its not always gonna work when we want it to, but it will work if we stick to it. There is a lot to learn on these forums and we can all help each other!

Default You girls rock!

Thanks for all the support girls! As long as we stick together we can do it! Is there anything tips that you have to get going... with eating right or exercising? I recently starting packaging up serving sizes into little baggies so I dont over eat! Thanks guys!!

Hey the baggie thing sounds like a really good idea. I read someone else uses a smaller plate therefore getting used to smaller portions. I think I am going to try this! :-)

So what do you all do to curb the dreaded cravings, whether it is chips, chocolate, breads etc?
