Hi everyone!
Someone from an old site I used to frequent recommended these boards to me a few weeks ago and I've just now had a chance to check them out.
I've read several posts and like what I see and hope I'll be able to bring something to this already great group of people! I am 26, single, and really desperate to have everything CLICK inside of me as far as making better health choices. The family thing has been exceptionally difficult for me as my parents/close relatives are all the opposite of health and wellness. I haven't necessarily surrounded myself w/the most health-conscious friends either so I come here seeking support I don't have in my real life. Any advisement you guys can offer would really help. I would like to lose 100lbs. My lowest weight in 14 years was just under 200lbs, so getting down to the 140's would definitely be new territory. Thanks in advance for anything you can do! I know what you mean about needing things to click. I think everyone does, and needs to find it in there own way. Obviously coming to these boards and talking to others is a step in the right direction. :dancer: I need to lose 100 pounds myself, and have been over 200 for about 11 years. Even before that I have always had a struggle with my weight--to my teen years. But at the same time I have always thought that I would some day be the success story I dreamed about. In some ways we are all like Dorothy from the wizard of oz--we all have the power to go home, we all have the power to make our healthy destiny happen. So now I just need to snap on my ruby slippers and work to get fit, one day at a time. I guess that is the hard part--our journey home doesn't happen as fast at it did for Dorothy by snapping our heals 3 times. Boy, do I wish it was so simple! Anyway, I look forward to making new friends on these boards--and would like to chat and keep each other motivated. We can do it! :) |
