Hi Jinxed, welcome to the forums!

I'm a graphic-designer myself, so being on the comp all day long is something I know very well (not mentioning that I just like comp-related activites, hehe).
What's worked for me so far, although I haven't begun very long ago, is a combination of better eating (Montignac method) and increased exercising (well, "increased" by starting from 0, so uhm... it wasn't very glorious before!). I'm not sure of how hard it will be in the future, I just know that it helped me a lot, I feel way better both in my body and in my mind, and I've even started getting antsy-pantsy when sitting for too long in front of the beloved comp, which never happened before.
The important thing IMHO would be for you to find an eating method (I don't like saying "diet") that suits you. If you're someone who gets easily frustrated and eats as soon as she's forbidden certain foods, a restrictive method probably wouldn't work for long, and so on. Support is also pretty important, even if not IRL - it's also a form of support to post on places like here, write a weight loss diary that other people will read, etc (as long as you know that you'll "report" in a way or another to other people, you're less tempted to indulge and close your eyes on the tempting, wrong behaviors; also writing down what you eat, your exercise etc, is a good way to keep track). On the other hand, one thing that *doesn't* work for me is exercise/diet buddies (IRL - online, it works differently): if the buddy doesn't come or gives up totally, it makes me feel like I can also afford myself to not go... so it may be better to not count on one other person absolutely
