Default Anyone else need a good kick in the...

booty to get you going? I know I do! I am a 27 yr old single mother who just made a commitment to herself to get rid of the chubb & pudge that has taken over her thighs, hips, stomach, & arms.

I believe I am on the right path so far, cutting out all the Pepsi & Mt. Dew and replacing it with water... the occassional Diet Pepsi creeps in every so often though. I don't have any specific plan I am following, but have my eye on weight watchers. Not sure how to follow though because I definatly don't have time for weekly meeting, and I know they offer the online thing... just skeptical of paying out money if it doesn't work... been there, done that. Anyone with any advise or opinions, please let me know.

I also joined a local gym last Friday, and have been every day working on Cardio for an hour with the exception of Sunday... I think 4 out of 5 days is better than nothing. I don't plan on going every day of the week, but would like to see me there atleast 3-5 days a week. I plan on doing my regular Tae-Bo at home on the days I am not at the gym.

Doe anyone have any advise for me, because I sure do want to make this work for me. Please let me know. Also, if you are looking for a buddy, look no furthur as I am more than happy to join you on your journey!!!

Hi Alissa! Sounds like you are on your way! I don't follow a "diet plan". I just decided to count my calories and if I want a teaspoon of chocolate chip cookie dough, then I have it and I count it into my daily caloric intake. It is so tough to fit exercise into a daily routine. I went to our local hotel and did my own water aerobic exercises for about a month. But then we started some home remodeling projects(3 done, 3 to go)and I haven't been back. Hopefully the remodeling is having the same effects. At least it seems like it is. Keep me posted by either e mail or PM me. Hope to talk to you soon!

Talking Sounds like me!

Sounds like me!
I've been doing South Beach...sorta...since December. When I say sorta, well, I'm a SAHM on a budget & can't always afford to buy the "light" cheese when the generic stuff is on sale. Same with meat - I can't afford to make a whole chicken & only eat the white meat...so I'm doing a loose interpretation!
I have greatly increased my veggies & yogurt while cutting back on the processed foods (bye-bye Hamburger Helper!) & sweets (okay - still working on that one! ). I'm down about 21lbs but have quite a bit left to hit my ultimate goal...& if all goes well I might set an even lower goal in the future.
Exercise is not my friend. I'll find any excuse not to do it! I know I need to but the actual "doing" is a whole different ball game!

If you want to chat & buddy up - I'm ready to get the show on the road. I need to get past the cravings & start exercising on a regular basis.

Hey congrats on the better choices already. I have followed weight watchers and it fits my life well. I understand that it isn't for everyone but it sounds like you could really benefit from it! For the 2.5 years I have considered myself using the program, I didn't attending meetings for half of that. Meetings aren't necessary...if you find support here, the program can still be successful. In fact, when I lost 75 lbs, I did ALL of that without meetings!

Good luck and hope you are well.

PS, I need the kick in the *** way more
