Default 41/F/w/fibro/OA/PA/etc. 2 girls & Hubby & I'm Fat

Hi, I'm new. I'm 41, a caterer and live just outside of Dallas, Texas. I have a lot of health problems and now have high chloresterol and am over wieght. I knew I needed to start loosing the weight, but the urgency is here now. I tried to go on the South Beach Phase 1 in Nov. and failed after 6 days. I had several orders for Creme Brulee. I made it through 3 till I caracked and ate several with the customer!

I have to get on the ball and could sure use a buddy. I plan to start on wednesday or thursday. I will have grocery money then .

It would be great to meet someone with Fibro, CFS, IBS and or some of the other problems I have listed in the title. I have already been over to the support Fibro area and posted.

My huby won't be very supportive about this and neither will my skinny daughters. I will still have to cook for them. Dinners are a production almost every night. Food is a main focus for our family and I am going to have a hard time with this transition. However, I'm sure if I can get the hang of it some of my clients will be delighted to buy some of my new, better for you foods. I am just really confused between no carbs/ carbs are okay and the different fats. For catering I keep atleast 5 lbs of butter in the freezer at all times! I probably have 3 cups of heavy cream right now.

I feel depressed about the idea of eating different forever. I need to loose about 50 lbs.
Any advice and help or anything will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Come and join us on the South Beach Forum. There are lots of recipes and answers to many questions over there. Do you have the book? The revised list of Phase I foods in the Forum is the most up to date.

I have to echo Ruth's invitation! You will find lots of support on the South Beach forum. I had high cholesterol before starting on South Beach. I'm also 41 and female and live in the same area as you (I'm in Richardson and work in Plano). I've managed to get my husband to eat South Beach just fine (and he was very reluctant initially) and my 7 year old son eats many of the same things we eat. We can certainly help you figure out how to deal with nonsupportive kids and husbands.

Default Hi

Sorry for the long wait in my reply, I don't get on the pc as often as I'd like. I have a teen who is using it the moment she gets home. I appreciate the feedback and will try to check you out over there tomorrow when I have more time. I can't tell you how glad I am that you answered me! Thank you! And glad to meet a neighbor too!
Thanks,
Dede
