I used to date a guy that was Italian, and any visit to his family was sure to see me packing on 10 lbs. His mom was such a great cook, and she would never let me get away with a small plate of anything.
Rather than thinkin of this as a diet, start thinkin along the lines that this is going to be a change. Low carb is a great plan for losing weight, but I'm like you, I couldn't eat that much protein in a day. So find a plan that you'll be able to stick to
long term. Start with small things like drinking more water and less sodas.
As far as the carb/protein/fat thing, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You might consider seeing a nutricionist if you are wanting a more strict plan of what to eat and not eat, but for me, simply cutting out the fried foods and eatting more veggies has made me feel a ton better.
