New to the board and need a buddy

  • I just stumbled across this board today, and I think the buddy idea is great. I started recently on a plan to lose weight (about 3 weeks ago) and would really love someone to kick me in the butt when I need it.
    I'm 26 years old, I'm 5"7 and my starting weight is 235. Eventually I would like to lose about 75 lbs, but my first goal is to lose 35 lbs before June. Hopefully it's a realistic goal. I'm open to any advice as I really haven't ever been on a "diet" before my current plan is to count my calories and when it's warm enough to walk.

    Welcome, Moniqua! Congratulations on starting a weight loss program; starting something new and breaking out of a rut can be really hard. I hope you visit the board often; I am continually inspired by the great women out there and their wise words.

  • Thanks for the welcome, I'm still trying to figure out what's going to work for me as far as my diet is concerned. But it's going to have to be more than just me "watching what i eat" because I tend to look the other way too often
    But I've takin the first steps and I have to say that some of the posts I have read on here really are inspirational. Makes me think that it is something that I CAN do.
