Default Where do I start?

As the title states I do not now where to begin with my introduction since I'm new to this board or which weight loss plan to try. Although I am leaning towards Sugar Buster. Once I check the book out of the library tomorrow I'll have a better idea about the program.

Before I begin what is WOE?

Okay, here are the facts. I need to lose over 100 pounds. Man...seeing that is print is almost as scary as getting on the scale. I've tried Atkins and South Beach and did lose a some weight with both plans. I just don't like to eat alot of meat. An lately with going through perimenopause I'm having hormone, health, and weight loss issues.

Since I love to encouragement and motivate others I'm seeking a serious buddy for support and encouragement. Being over weight has been an obstacle in my life for many years and I'm ready to close that chapter and move on to an healthier lifestyle.

Thanks!

Hi Healthy,
I had the same problem with Atkins, I just don't like meat THAT much. I have about 50 pounds to lose and I would love to have a serious buddy. I have health problems (back) as well that prevents me from doing most forms of exercise. I've decided for myself to do a low-fat, less flour diet. You can PM me here if you want to get started on some support!

I think WOE meand Way Of Eating. IMO, if you don't like the main staple of a diet, you're setting yourself up for failure.

If you want to get started right away, you could just use an on-line calorie chart and try to keep you calories below a certain level, that way you could start seeing results while you research the more structured diets.

Scale shock syndrome sucks for sure, but I just tell myself that's just a number and I can change it. It was a horrible feeling for me after telling myself that my jeans "shrunk" that I in fact weighed 25 pounds more than in my drivers license and in my head. I had been avoiding the scale for most of the year -- a mistake as bad as obsessing on it.

25 pounds looked insurmountable but, I just ask myself can I lose 5 pounds? Then OK I just have to do it five times, LOL! I've already lost 6 so, on my way.

Just start up -- be mindful of eating a little less, moving a little more and don't start Atkins again if you didn't like it the first time, you won't like it now.

I think one of the most vegetarian friendly diets is WW. There are no limits on starchy beans (well other than points, like everything else), which really limits your protein choices on carb focused diets.

Body For Life is another good choice. I am 'loosely' on the program. I don't like to eat a lot of meat, either. Most of my protein comes from cottage cheese, yogurt, and whey protein shakes.
