Lightbulb Looking for a new found motivation!

Hello, my name is Jeniqua. I am 28 years old and a mother to 3 beautiful children. I have 40 pounds I would like to lose. I need to find something to truly motivate me . I'm more than ready to be healthy and fit again. If anyone is looking to lose about the same amount of weight I would love to buddy up with you. I used to be very active but now it's hard for me to find a sitter so I can go to the gym. I am looking for some great motivation and words of encouragement..Come on in and lets encourage each other!!

You're already motivated Jeniqua, else you wouldn't be here. Now you just need daily reminders of that motivation. For me, I threw out foods and replaced them with healthier stuff so I wasn't tempted. Won't hurt the rest of your family to eat healthy anyway. I would also buy a new outfit a size smaller and hang it where I'd see it everyday until I could wear it, then do it all over again. Buy something expensive that you really like so you'll be really motivated to wear it and not waste the money spent. And I kept a few mags with pictures of firm tummied gals on the fronts to look at.

I still couldn't stick with the motivation to exercise daily, so I had to mix it up. I tried different exercise routines AND different times to exercise until I found a time that wasn't a burden so I'd have no reason not to stick with it, and an exercise I could do in less time that would burn a lot of cals. Walking doesn't get it for me, takes much longer to walk off as many cals as I can run off in half the time...so I run.

Hello almostheaven! I love running! I used to run 2 miles everyday 2 summers ago. I find that I lose alot of weight that way too. If I could find a sitter everyday I would do that in a heartbeat. I am truly motivated now!! I joined the support group of Desperate Housewives and love it. The women and their words of encouragement really make me want to reach my goal..So far so good..YAY!!

Sharqueen, I see people come up with some creative exercise here. I've seen people running while pushing a stroller. LOL Or they have kid carriers or bike's for 2 or 3 and go riding with their kids sitting in the backseats.

If you work, run at lunch. If you're SAHM, can you find a group of perhaps 3 other SAHMs and share the kids/running? I mean, 2 watch the kids while 2 run, then the 2 get back from their run and take over the kids while the other 2 run. Four mom's get fit and the kids are all taken care of.

Sorry, just noticed that you are the original poster. With 3, it might be harder to do the bike/stroller things. LOL And you said you can't find a sitter, but can you still try the mom tradeoff thing? If not, can you invest in a treadmill that you can have facing the room so you can keep your eye on the kids while running? Or is there a nearby track/park where the kids can play in site while you run the track?

Hello almost heaven..I used to run on the local track and the fitness gym. Right now it's freezing so I can't take the kids with me. I hate that I can't find a sitter..before it got cold I even ran up and down my driveway for 25min(that's how long it took me to run 2 miles). Money isn't permitting for a treadmill right now because we are working on our house so we can buy it. Unfortunately that's where all our extra money is going right now. If I didn't have 3 kids it would be much easier..LOL!! Thanks for all your suggestions thus far, I appreciate them. Well off to do my Firm video.
