Hi EE25!
Welcome to the boards. I've only been here a week or two myself. As far as nutrition, I use the principles of Sugar Busters, a book that's available at your local bookstore. The basic premise is to limit your intake of starchy, high-glycemic carbs, eat whole foods (not overly proccessed), whole grain breads, lots of veggies, some low-glycemic fruits, lean meats, etc. I also watch my portions, eat 5-6 small meals a day, and count calories (at least at the beginning, to get a true picture of how much you're consuming.) A couple of good sites for doing this are
http://www.fitday.com and
http://in2nutrition.com/discovery2/ I'm also trying to do cardio and weight training 3 times a week to boost metabolism, burn calories and gain muscle (which also increases your metabolism.) Do you have a plan you're following? What are your goals? Best of luck to you on your journey!
