Hi Rita!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure you can find some really inexpensive Body Flex videos on eBay. I've also found them at my local thrift stores for about 2 dollars. It's been the most healthy weight loss I've ever experienced, so best of luck to you. I do have to mention that it's really important to follow the instructions on the aerobic breathing techniques since it's the key to weight loss. It only takes 15 minutes, so it's very easy to fit into most schedules.

Take care!

Hi Rita & Bombshell - I would love to join. I will be looking for the Body Flex videos. I have been trying very hard to lose this weight for a very long time. My daughter has decided to get married (finally after all they 5 children together) next month. I would so love to be in better shape for the big event. :cb:

My biggest area of complaint is the stomach. I am going to see the doctor today so hopefully she will have some advise. I have been taking Xenical for 2 months and lost 1 lbs!! grrrr

Well off to get ready for work. Have a great day ladies!

Penny

Body Flex

Hi Penny!

There are two different Body Flex systems. The original comes with just two videos (sometimes 3 including the advanced 9 minutes workout), then there's the newer one with the toning bar and a newer version workout video. I found one of the older ones (what I used) on eBay for 7.99. Great deal, but it only has an hour left on it. Watch out for high shipping prices! :yikes:

Either one would work for you, but I'd start with the original until you get use to doing it. I think I'm going to start using mine again. I also started the Windsor Pilates which I asolutely LOVE!! I was really starting to see a difference, but ended up having to have two surgeries which set me back quite a bit. Pilates takes a bit more time, and is quite a bit harder and more intense, but well worth it if you have time.

Have a great day!

Good morning girls thanks for the info on the tapes will start with the first one as it will take me awhile to do that will get my daughter to go on e bay as she is a regular there well you and Linda have a great day Rita

chubbylady 07-15-2004 09:21 PM

Good Evening ladies! Thanks for the info on the tapes. I went to physical therapy today, they said that right now, I need to work with them to get my back/neck/hips stronger. They advised that I stick to walking and using the elipical machines at the Y. They told me I am trying to get to the finish point to quickly and I will end up hurting myself more. The doctor yesterday gave me a referral to a dietician, so hoping they can tell me something! To bad most of the one's I was referred to can't see me until Sept! grrrr - But I am going to keep looking for someone willing to take me on.

Have a great evening ladies! Penny

Hi Penny!

Even if you can't do any of the body postitions, you can still benefit from the breathing part of Body Flex. You can do it while you're driving, while you're watching TV, or just about anything else. If you can do 10 breaths 4 times a day or more, you'll speed up your metabolism. You can also do it before and after eating. Sometimes if I eat too much and feel horribly full, I'll do 10 breaths or so and the fullness goes right away. You end up metabolizing your food more quickly that way, so give it a try. Air is free, so you have nothing to lose but weight :cheer:

Take care!

Hope you have a great day!:flow2:

Bombshell2k 07-17-2004 01:59 PM

Hi Penny and Rita!

It's a beautiful day here in Western Washington :sunny: You know, you don't have to wait to get started on doing the breathing exercises. The web site http://theskippedbreath.com has the instructions and body positions on there for free, so you can do it right away. Do it in your car, while you're sitting there watching TV, or whatever else you may be doing throuout the day.

Try to get in 10 breaths at least 4 times a day. Do it more if you can.

Enjoy your weekend!

HI! penny . Bombshell hope you arehaving a grea day thanks for the e mail address on the breathing going to check it out as soon as iI am done here well Ohio is chilly and rainy today so going to take a walk in side the mall later on!!!!!!!!!!!!so have a great saturday Rita

Bombshell2k 07-18-2004 02:09 PM

Well, I spoke too soon. It's raining today  Yesterday was great, but it is Washington afterall. I'm taking a trip to Los Angeles on the 29th, so I'm thinking last night to myself that I need to lose some extra pounds quickly. I decided that I'm going to go on a protein drink fast for at least a week if not longer. I know, it's not the greatest thing to do, but I really need to go down there feeling good about myself.

I had something pretty devastating happen to me yesterday, so I need to do something to make myself feel better. Otheriwse I'd go crazy right about now. I wish life could be perfect and not throw any curve balls at me, but that's just how life is. I'm taking all of this pretty well (for now), but I don't think it's sunk in just yet. I'm sure I'll be crying my eyes out within the next few days, but hopefully I'll just get over it.

I hope your weekend is going better than mine is.

Take care!

chubbylady 07-18-2004 06:16 PM

So Sorry Bombshell to hear you are having a difficult time of it. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Protein drinks are not the best way to go, it's hard you system. I know what you are feeling, cuz I went through the same thing when we were getting ready to go to Hawaii. It was really hard, I worked my butt off just to feel good when I left.

My weekend was a wild one... kids ya know (teenagers at that)! Getting ready for the outlaws - mmm ahhhh in-laws I mean next weekend... Boy is that going to be a rough week.

Bombshell & Rita - take care of yourselves!!

Bombshell2k 07-18-2004 10:58 PM

Thanks Penny! I'll get over it. I really want to look and feel good not just for the trip, but I feel like this thing that's happened to me, and the trip has given me some major insentive to workout and lose some serious weight. Maybe it's just about getting out of my own head for a while that will help. Or being focused on something other than what's going on right now.

As for kids and in-laws I know what you mean. I have both. My son is 12 and a half, and it's been a major change for me to deal with. He thinks he knows it all and is a terrible back-talker. Ugh, I want to pull my hair out sometimes.

Luckily, my in-laws live in California, so I don't have to see them too often. My hubby and I take separate trips usually, so I'm lucky there. And we don't usually have any in-laws coming up to visit. My dad lives here by us and works for us, but my hubby and him get along great. He comes over all the time for dinner and BBQs.

Anyway, you'll get through next week just fine. And the kids... well, they'll just be kids. One day we'll be sad that they've all grown up. So enjoy the time you have with them..... for better or worse.

Have a great week!
