Default New & Want a Buddy...

Hi Everyone,
My name is Stefanie, I'm 37, divorced, but living with an awesome guy (2 1/2 yr. relationship), have a daughter who is 8... And I have just begun (9 days) to eat healthy again. About 3 years ago I lost about 25 pounds and I would like to get back what I had then: motivation, accountability, self-esteem!

I am 5' 0" and currently weigh 122. My goal is 95. I like myself best at that weight - I am much bigger in the stomach (and since hitting 30, the butt and thighs too) than anywhere else. I no longer fit into any clothes I own... Shorts form last year don't make it past the thighs...

I've been eating low fat and portion controlling. Veggies, etc... Doing the 5 - 6 small meals/snacks & lots of water. I'm planning to add exercise next week at the latest. I find that if I do too much changing at once I'll get discouraged. So, week one was changing food. this week I've added drinking at least 1.5 L of water, preferably more, but you know how that is.... Next week walking.........

I guess I would like to be able to share what I am doing and eating, my progress... I like helping others with things to do, and love to hear what works for others too...

I read on another post about someone's husband trying to gain weight... My BF (we live together) is the same way, so it is difficult.....

Anyway, I get all excited about my weight loss stuff and eating plans & need someone and somewhere to share about it! Last time I did this I posted on a now-defunct BB --- "Getting Fit!" and we always posted our daily food, water & exercise ... That was so great for motivation and learning..

Glad to have found this board!! Anyone that would like to email or chat, my e-mail is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I am on MSN Instant Messenger as xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Sure would love to hear form someone, and look forward to reading lots of stuff here!!!

Looking forward to getting to know y'all (by the way I'm from Memphis area - Horn Lake, Mississippi)!
Stefanie

Hey, I'm 5' tall too, and I'm closer to 150 right now after loosing 10 lbs over the past few months. its a struggle but I really want to live long and healthy and I am hoping to get to be maybe 115 lbs, maybe more but I try not to set my sights too high in feer that I will feel discurraged. I'd like to look slimmer for summer when I go to alaska with my husband on the fishing trip.
So I am motivated. I am sorry about my stinking bad spelling. I am new here too but I will be the first to welcome you here...

Hi Stefanie,

Sounds like you are motivated and doing great! Sounded a lot like myself, if I jump in, I normally jump into the deep in and drown. I started about a week ago, my diet and my exercise, I kept my exercise small, just walking on a treadmill 15 minutes, not too overwelming, and each week I've planned to add 5 minutes, so this week I did.

I started at 186, and now as of today at 178. I'm 5'7" and going for 140. I may go lower but I'm over 40 so it maybe too hard to handle, but maybe not since I've committed myself to keep up the exercise. I intend to add swimming as soon as it gets a bit warmer, I live in Florida so that may be soon. My DH has just added solar panel heating to our pool so that may get me there quicker.

My diet is basically watching what I eat, no fats or very small amounts, no junk, good vegtables and fruit, I try and eat fish or chicken, but will eat beef on occasion and I weigh, measure everything and track it. It is a slow method but anything else will make me fall off the wagon. I am keeping my calories between 1000 and 1300, most days, it is right about 1100 and I am not hungry. I still eat out, so that gives me a change of pace but I stick to the foods on the menu that are the healthy choices and within my calorie range.

So welcome and hope to see lots of stuff from you
