  • So, my body is taking on a mind of its own. It's expected at this age, so I better get used to it... I guess. I'm still losing weight slowly, but it's difficult to say when you have your period a week early one month and almost two weeks early another. Totally throws off the weight on the scale.

I've gone low carb. I won't say keto, because I definitely didn't do the whole "kick off week" that is supposed to be **** week. I just eased my way into it by deciding that I wouldn't have sandwiches at lunch during my networking meetings and I eliminated the somewhat high sugar protein bars and shakes and I've decided I'm not eating all the other carb-filled foods that were in my kitchen. After looking at the net carbs and total sugars in most of those things I can see why people don't lose weight. Some have almost as much as regular candy bars. Sure, call it healthy and suddenly its OK to eat chocolate. I'm much happier eating steaks, cheese and tons of veggies.

I even recently had someone ask me if I'd lost a lot of weight because they could see it in my face. I haven't lost THAT much weight (IMO) but it's nice that someone took notice. For the most part I'm not tired during the day, today being the exception and a couple of weeks ago when I caught a nasty bug everyone was getting locally. Today I actually cat napped, but I think it was lack of sleep. I woke up "early" and couldn't get back to sleep. I haven't been getting the 3 pm sugar crash that made me want to take a nap almost every afternoon.

Now I just need a week or two of normal so I can really get to losing weight.
  • So, it’s been more than a year since I posted in this thread. Things have changed a lot since then. I hovered in weight and no change in diet seemed to help. I walked every morning (and felt great) but not a single ounce came off. I tried the skinny coffee products with no luck. I finally tried a two week cleanse. I didn’t do the whole food cleanse thing, just took the pills to see if it would do anything. It did! I finally feel like I’ve gone over the little hump and might start losing some real weight again.

I moved to be with an ex boyfriend. 200 miles and 30 degree difference in temperature sure make things fun.

This COVID thing is a pain in the neck and doesn’t help my weight loss.
  • Down a few more pounds!

It’s not coming off as quickly as I want it to, but beggars can’t be choosers.

I found a food tracking app as well as a fasting and walking apps. I really like the walking app because it gives me distance, pace, elevation, and could do more if I paid an annual fee.

    TW 286
    CW 235.6
    GW 135 (120-130 ultimate goal)
Lost 3.4 pound in the last 7 days
  • Hi Andie. Are you still using the detox pills? That was July and you said it was a two week thing. Also, I would like to know the name of the walking app you are using. I have a Fitbit that tracks my activity, but I would like to see if the walking app does more. I also do a tracking app and a fasting app, plus I use a scale that has an app on my phone and records my weight to my Fitbit and to MyFitnessPal. It also records BMI, LBM, water weight, and lots of other things. I am really into gadgets like this. I'm not really losing a lot of weight but it makes trying a lot more fun!!

I only did the two weeks and it really did help. None of that weight (about 9 pounds) came back. The last few weeks haven't been nearly as quick and those first two, but I'm OK with that. I have 8 more pills I can use from the bottle if I want to. I will once I have a free few days.

I use Map My Walk. It tracks my walk and will tell me when I hit 1 mile, 2 miles, etc. It gives me my pace and even has some features in the free version I haven't tried yet. I think it's an Under Armor app. I really like that it keeps my time and I don't have to use a timer or try to remember what time I started. It can connect to devices but I don't have any at the moment.

I did a light therapy treatment yesterday that is supposed to help melt off some fat. It doesn't eliminate the fat cells, it supposedly forces the cells to let go of the stuff inside and helps them shrink. They did a measurement of my weight, BMI, water, fat percentage, etc. To make a long story short, I'm pretty fricken unhealthy in those respects. Funny, I'm more active than a lot of people I know who are probably considered healthier.
  • You might be unhealthy, but you are doing things to improve that!! It takes time and diligence.

I can set my Fitbit to track my different exercises, such as treadmill, elliptical, bike etc but I am usually half way through the exercise before I remember. One time I remembered to set it but forgot to stop it and it gave me credit for over an hour of walking! LOL In my dreams!!

Weight loss and getting healthy is not for sissies.
  • The Noom app looks like something to try 🤔
